I realize this is a preview and the movie isn't finalized but I seriously hope they work on the sound mixing for the final release. Shit was shot on pretty lousy microphones and they need to adjust the levels. Interviews conducted outdoors sound muddy and way too quiet.

@Choi: I didn't get the lovefest over him. He has always been good @ ST, but his Ryu has a lot of holes. I wouldn't even say in the top 10 Ryu when you factor in Japan players with the better NA Ryus. There was a LOT of quality players missing from Devastation. Choi won't even make top 8-12 at Evo.

For example, the announcers kept talking about his superb execution, but I seen a ton of times where he didn't punish nearly enough or missed a FADC and followed up with an ex-SRK.

You do have to realize, choi hasn't put his time into this game as much as Wong has (people would be dumb to say otherwise) so there will be holes (he's not daigo who has played this game since it came out in sept./oct. of last year). But you'd be foolish to say any american can match up to the Grandmaster list anyway (29 GMs with 89k and up pts). And the very top with 200k+ (Mago and Ojisanboy Sagat with Daigo being 3rd), are tougher than nails. I didn't like the commentary, too much dick-riding on players that it got sad listening to it. We'll see how everyone will fair in a couple of weeks since Evo's almost here (too bad I can't afford to go besides, even I know i haven't put any time into this game to try and compete). Anyway, GGs last night Welt, I know my connection sucks, which is why I hate online gaming. Offline is still best, at least there's no such thing as input lags that will make you miss combos.

it was all fun and games. i could hold my own a little, but i mostly got my ass kicked. by girls too. wtf. when was it popular for girls to be good at fighting games, man? do they discuss ryu's shoryuken FADC ultra in the bathroom when they put on their makeup? kinda pisses me off for underestimating them. i made a bet saying i could beat them if i used my main, Blanka. but she was good with viper, and i dont fight them too often. so since i lost, i had to do like 30 pushups lol.

Well, I think people are more afraid of 2 things, 1, you mentioned mago's consistency, he is, but i think they're more afraid of the 2nd reason, which is sagat. They're both scary in a sense that they're very consistent, but Daigo tends to play far more riskier than Mago.

Mago (if you saw him in CvS2) is a guy who tends to play with less risks and more with spacing and defensive (add the fact that he was very consistent and will punish you with roll-cancels) so that tends to be a lot of a harder match (defensive players tend to be harder to beat). Daigo on the other hand, he rushes players and plays more offensively to the point that his consistent footsie game and precise combos will hurt. Add that he can yomi any move you throw out, makes daigo a hell of a lot scarier than any normal ryu but also causes him to lose games where the other player will play on that idea and bait him to throw a move out.

I don't know about Poongko though he has game, there's a big difference between Japan and the rest of the world right now. But on a 1 game match anything can and will happen anyway, so we'll see. Would be nice if Korea has a representative to SBO. But at this point, it's all speculations anyway.

Daigo isn't the world champ, it's really Justin if we think about it since Daigo didn't win Japans championship (if we're looking at it for technicalities sake). Richardd/Weltall, you guys got AIM? Btw, another example of Daigo's yomi would be the end of the first round in this fight YouTube - SF4:Daigo (Ry) vs Haneyama (Ch) - TRF 12-06-2009. In this tournament Mago and Daigo met in the finals with daigo winning.

been playing bb, pretty fun, but extremely random for me, and this is coming from a 6-year high level guilty gear player... but then again, I stopped playing guilty gear for a year, and the only local person i knew who kept playing in my area was FlashMetroid.

On a side note, haven't had much sf4 going on, add me dammit if you haven't already! Next time i see someone from bg go on, i'll ask for some matches. No mic tho, my arcade stick doesn't have a mic port. lol
