Finally went out and bought a stick after being almost exclusively a pad player for the last decade or so, and purchase was almost instantly justified since I can now easily pull off Bison's Hell Attack -> Ultra Combo.

And Welt, speaking from experience, playing Virtua Fighter with a pad is AWFUL. Some characters it's fine, but trying to do shit like Akira's SPOD with consistency is pretty much impossible on a pad.

Suffice to say there are inputs in VF that are obscenely hard to pull off on a pad, which are infinitely easier with a stick.

But what you said is fairly true, Tekken for sure does not need a stick in the slightest, and I know during the Devastation live stream both of the guys in the SCIV final were pad players.
