I play pretty much sf4 only with a side of blazblue but I am trying to not play online as often, and when I do i play on 360. So if you or anyone wants to play IM or PM me first and I'll be down.

GGs bro, that was actually my longest stretch against a viper (no one plays it here in Reno), and only a few online matches that I've encountered Viper, so thanks for the practice.

No problem! I love player matches. Playing randam online players being one and done (typically), you don't really learn about the weakness of your game because it's a lot easier to do tricks to your opponent.

Besides, connection quality are generally fine when playing BG folks compared to randoms.

Edit: I wish there's an arcade with SF4 around here (NVA/MD/DC area)... the closest I think is in Philly.

Yea, I hear ya. Sucks that some people tend to get stuck playing online, which sucks since this game has bad input lags on certain connections.

Got my TE stick in earlier today, just had some games with a friend, takes a lot of getting used to. Was glad that I could finally do what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it on pad, and now it's back to square one. "Cannon Spike" gnnzoeknfozenozen I MEANT TO DO SPIRAL ARROW.
Going to be fiddling with grip and button config for a while before I get comfortable I think. Luckily the stick itself is motivation enough to try to get better. Can't very well show up at a friend's with the giant thing and then suck ass!

Ah didn't catch your post, went off to watch a movie after my post. I'm on 360 though, but thanks for the offer.
I'll put in some time in training mode again tomorrow, can start with slow, correct motions in there, instead of frenetic "must get move out now" wiggling during actual matches.
Random question: anyone use the 6 rightmost buttons on the stick? They seem a bit more comfortable to hit PPP or KKK with, compared to the standard (curved) 6. Another thing to try out tomorrow~

I originally started with the 6 rightmost, since I wasn't comfortable with my pinky resting on the far right buttons, but I've since switched over to japanese style curve. It's the perfect home position for your fingers, but you'll develop that over time.

oh! and I switched over from Sanwa to Semitsu<3<3<3<3 buttons. Semitsu buttons are just absolute wow, not so sensitive as the Sanwas which was hurting my links. Feels a ton more accurate now.

damn turtles =( it's so easy to kill nooby turtle players by out-turtling them but it's so boring, do people actually find walking away shooting fireballs for 90 seconds a round fun?

You play Viper right? You can just seismic hammer them to death if they just shoot fireballs ;o

i play chunners/dictator (mostly), i don't have trouble with ranged people on either of them (headstomp/kikkoken), and i'm doing a bit of gouken lately and trying to learn abel, although i'm finding abel a hard character to learn, he's just slightly slow enough to miss a lot of pokes (when yo both poke at the same time, except they go first instead of you type of thing), and i guess i'm not used to characters where i can't easily combo from a poke chain to check if they're blocking or not and he doesn't really have a great counter to fireballs except maybe his ex change of direction

like..can do cr.lp x2~3 -> cr.mk -> xx scissors with dictator, and cr.lk x3 -> (ex) flash kicks with chun-li, but with abel i'm having some weird trouble figuring out how to start a combo that i'm not positive is a connect

    c. lk, c. lp, c. lp, c. lp, far st. lk is Abel's only real poke combo. If yo drop one of the lp's you can follow up the combo with a F+MK dash in to get close.

Basically, you want to use mix up F+MK dash ins, and lk rolls into throw to get close to your opponent. What Abel lacks in pokes, he makes up for with a crazy wake up game. You want to keep your oponent guessing between teching your throws, and trying to interrupt your wake up TT's with reversal SRK's.

You can also cross up with his jumping mk and combo into his CoD really easily. Any chance that you can land a combo into CoD is a chance for a FADC ultra.
