Also, Obama's stimulus plan will work way better because now we've bailed out even more private companies and plan to bail out some in the future, and because Obama's stimulus isn't coming from printed money that would further increase inflation.

I was hearing on NPR today about all the relatively stable banks that were receiving "bailout" money. They had a couple bank presidents on saying basically "yeah, that's the point. We're stable, so we take low-interest loans from the government and loan it out to eligible lenders at higher interest rates. That's how you un-freeze liquidity in the credit market, by making loans - not by making shitty lenders' books look better."

And somehow that...made all the sense in the world.

Usually the "tax rebate" stuff is a smokescreen, since it basically comes out of the following year's taxes. Not sure how Obama is structuring his.
