    Eo'aern soloable by SCH?

    Hey,

After getting AFv2 head in Xarc, I decided to try my hand at getting some HQ Aern Organs to fight Ix'mnk for the cape.

However, I have gotten the Eo'aern down to 54 and 30-ish % respectively before I died due to lack of room to kite without linking (or I do link).

I am aware getting a friend or two can make this go faster but I wanted to know if it was possible to do this on SCH solo.

Well, the best place to farm Eo'Aerns (in my opinion) is the northernmost "interior" room on the first floor east side. Summoner, Monk I think, and maybe Black Mage and Red Mage. I just remember the Aerns there were a hell of a lot easier than the PLD/BRD/NIN/DRG first east room ones. Kill the Ghrah in the hallway before the room and kite the Aerns up and down it.

They're in the Ix'DRG rooms, right? I've soloed them before when I got separated from everyone else. There isn't much room to kite, so I just sleep nuked and used the stairs ramps to my advantage. Slow, crappy kill speeds, but relatively safe. Just watch out for rape-mode with the bracelets.

Just keep a fresh RR2 up and practice a bit.

I've always fought in this area as blm or rdm.
I start out on the east end of the room and wait till i can nuke a mob w/o linking.
Nuke lands > grav and run into the small room at the east.
I then sleep or bind the mob in the hallway leading to the small room and nuke again.
Sleep > nuke > sleep as needed. (re-apply gravity as needed)
Once I get the mob about 2 nukes away from dieing, I nuke once then allow the mob to return as far into the original room as possible w/o linking and sleep or bind again.
Then one more nuke to kill it & i move out of agg range so if it RR's it won't attack me. (or depop)

Once you clear 2 mobs this way you can use the room they pop in to kite fairly easily and safely.

I think the mobs in this room pop as whm, rng, drk, war or blm.
(polearm aerns w/o a wyvern are war i think)
it's been a while, but I know there are a couple of aspirable jobs.
there are only 4 mobs in the room but I believe a couple can pop as more than one job.

Done fairly easy as BLM/NIN or RDM sub by sleep nuking due to lack of space.

Not sure on numbers but you should be able to hit 270 Enfeebling I think as SCH, which is more than enough to sleep the Eo ones. Good luck on your cape!

Edit: o and if you're out of MP after killing one, don't stand there, move to about 15' so it won't aggro if it decides to reraise.

The problem with sleep-nuking on SCH is that you have to use a strategem each time when /NIN, otherwise that would be my suggestion as well. I really recommend using the room directly north of the map Arcaneo posted. It has much easier Aerns, and I imagine Ninja Aerns would mess up a SCH pretty quickly.

It's been a while since I farmed them, but I think the first room (right by the zone) is DRG (Has a pet), NIN (resist bind+utsu), PLD (resist sleep), and BRD (can Horde and a slow pull). Obviously BRD is normally a pretty easy kill, but the northern room is so much easier over all. BLM and RDM (easy to kite) and MNK I think (also easy to kite) with SMN as the one "hard" one (could summon Dark Elemental.)

There are four Aern "rooms" on the east side first floor. The lower one has DRG, NIN, and PLD (bad) the next one north has BST (bad!) the one north of that I honestly don't remember, but something makes me think it has a NIN in it (bad), and the northernmost one just has SMN (meh!)

The first room west from the entrance has whm, blm, drk, sam, rng. The sam's the only "hard" one for blm/rdm (sch/rdm is essentially the same), and that's still much easier than the nin or bst or drg you'll meet on the east side.

It's much easier once you get a few of the possible links eliminated. For the first few, either pull them into the euvhi room or pick on one when the other three are on the other side of the room. I try to get 25' away before they reraise if they're in the main room, or sleep reraises if they're not - they'll depop after reraise if they're in the far corners of their pop room (or outside it, of course) and will be able to reraise again.

I must have used the west room then, because there were no jobs w/ pets, plds or nins in the room, and there definitely was a whm, rng, drk, and w/e the polearm aern w/o pets is. (if this guy has a pet, he never once summoned it in over 100k xp of solo farming) edit: per person above i guess it's sam, which makes sense.

I also assumed they would be /rdm for SS & gravity (and a stratagemless sleep-1)

this is basically what i do, but i pull the aern to the original room before the final nuke so if it RR's it won't depop. This way I feel less likely to get caught bye repops. Also if you keep the RR targeted you can just pull it into the euhvi room and kill it then rest since it 100% won't rr a second time. Also makes for decent chains.

Why would you be /nin? /rdm and do it exactly like a BLM. You have all the same (relevant) spells.

Might want to mark the dats so you know their job type before pulling.

As said above if your properly geared for the matter you shouldn't have any issues and would fight them the same way a blm would.

I'd bring a friend though, aerns love to huddle together. If solo I always just pull them from one of the large rooms into the smaller adjacent hallways where grah are (after killing the grah of course)

I'd stay away from mnk aerns, their evil bastards.

Edit: Don't get discouraged if your having issues at first, there is a bit of a learning curve.

I think I always head West as I enter on either BLM or SCH. I've done them as both and in all honesty once you get the hang of it, the job doesn't really make much difference. Remember to aspir applicable mobs and never take a risk on stoneskin or blink. Always, always have enough MP to sleep a reraise. Reraises are the main reason you'll die. Bring enfeebling gear.

You will die until you get the hang of it, nice thing about SCH is the free RR2.

Tried left side of entering the palace where there is a PLD, NIN, BRD, DRG.

The kiting through the hallway with the closed flower has been working well. Have one HQ organ after a BLM friend came to help me. The main issue is the PLD being a pain to sleep sometimes after the 2nd try and DRG with his pet.

I forgot what was on the right side but I am sure it had about the same job types.

Try the room on your other left. WHM, BLM, RNG, DRK, and SAM are much easier to deal with.
