Problems with Adventuring Fellow weapon

Lately I've been messing around with my NPC frequently and have encountered a rather irritating problem. I've read through the information on the wiki page for fellows @

paying special attention to the information on weapon change. My NPC is level 54 with around 80 fellowship bond. According to the information listed in the weapon/bond chart, I should be able to trade Luto up to the category 5 weapons. However, to date, Luto has never once mentioned my fellow wanting a new weapon (see the weapon-specific dialogue near the bottom of the page). She also accepts no weapon trades. I speak with Luto daily and have yet to make any progress.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Okay I had this problem as well and heres what I think.

You should check your quest log and be sure you dont have ANY open Adventuring fellow related quests, if you do, finish it, zone and talk to luto again. Also try to talk to her with your pearl on.

I couldnt prove either way which worked but I completed a quest and went to talk to Luto again for kicks and she gave me Every Single message for weapon rank all at once. so I couldnt see which worked, I had my pearl on at the time too.
