60's War weapon

I'm curious what weapon I'm best off using around this level. I'm 60 right now and have been going Axe / G.axe, but after my last party I've been wondering about giving Polearm a shot on birds. Will Penta be a big enough jump to make up for the skill distance (Small now but the gap will be widening shorty) or does Raging Rush do well enough to compare? Maybe only practical if I'm with a bard and will be sure that all/most hits land or somehow end up in a situation where the fucker won't gobble my food and I can use sushi? Is there any weapon in particular that shines around this level? I'm planning on grabbing a Couse as soon as one makes its way on to the AH; anything else I should be considering?

It would definitly be something you should try out. Looking at the skill caps by level its only about a difference of 7 Skill levels between Gaxe/Axe and Polearm, Which shouldnt pose a big problem.

I Say it sounds viable as long as your geared correctly, practicly even, But theres no better way then to give it a run yourself, Its just really dependant on the Weapon choices for WAR and Polearms, Its rather small.


Also, Im guilty of thinking this was a 1960's War thread.

Haha, the title could be a little misleading I suppose. My skill is just disgustingly under leveled now, so I'm stabbing bats as I type to counteract it. I'll defiantly give it a shot when I get to somewhere a little more respectable.

Tungi and Fransisca are both 60+, but on colibri, Raging Rush > Rampage in my opinion. I never used polearm so I can't vouch for that.

Francesica (sp) is a the 1h axe and it's around 59 I think.
Tungi is from an Antican NM. Ignore any rumors you hear about a hidden double attack or rampage or something perk. It's a WYSIWYG axe, though it's still not bad.

Fransisca is 63, Tungi is 60. Tungi is the Hornetneedle of Axes, has very nice DoT for the level range (and really until 70+) due to being one of only a few 260 delay Axes (and the highest level one currently in the game). Yeah, it's a popped NM Antican. The Goblin he's thinkin' of is for Acha d'Armas.
There are slightly better axes, but generally yeah, if you want to dual wield axes in the 60s, just get those and upgrade again in the 70s.

IMO, GAxe does just fine. I just used Schwarz Axt > Pendragon Axe > Perdu, though there are some better choices 70+ if you're not just waiting an extra XP session or two for Rare/EX like I was.

I didn't use Polearm in that level range. I've heard good things, but I'd balance that with how fast you're leveling anyway. For me, I was static'ing, and we ran out of mobs anyway, so killing Colibri yet faster wasn't really necessary.

Yeah, I gotcha. It's not that it doesn't make sense, I just don't consider it something said often enough to warrant an acronym.

I actually have both Tungi and Fransisca, but I I've been thinking with the roughly 15 extra att / acc I get just using a 2 handed weapon (Plus grip) and Raging Rush, G Axe would pull ahead. The last party I was in had a Polearm WAR and DRG, both of which were knocking off about 30-40% of a birds life per penta, so that's what got me wondering which would really come out on top. I did also go after Schwarz, but after dicking around in LoO about 2-3 hours a day for 2 weeks until I was shitting manta skin, I gave that one up.

WYSIWYG actually flows a lot better after you hear someone pronounce it. Wizzy-Wig. It just looks like a cat tackled your keyboard otherwise.

You've already been corrected but i think the Goblin NM drops Eisentanzer >___> i used that Gaxe for a few levels

Though that Eisentaenzer does seem like a nice sidish-upgrade for that level area, but not in the 60s unless you want to be in another thread on these forums.

That could be true today, when most end-users work with documents using WYSIWYG software. It's not really a "selling point" anymore, but it used to be an important distinction. Obviously, there are plenty of exceptions, and the form I'm using to make this post is one of them. It's still a relevant acronym to me, and I see it often, but my job is to maintain a database of software.

Edit: went back on topic right into the wrong thread; let's try again! Back on topic for real, my WAR changed to Great Axe at 60 and never looked back. 2-handed weapons suck hardcore to catch up on, even if you have helpful LS members, if you don't have a 75 job that you can use to skill them up. Even if you do, they can kind of blow. Great Axe never capped itself most levels until I started getting close to 70, and it's a great (har har) weapon for WAR on any mob, so I'd just go with that all the way.

I don't see why you'd pass up Raging Rush for a completely inferior WS, unless you just have a hard on for 1h Axes.

That's fine if you do, but try to do it right... if you want EZ mode to ass kicking, Gaxe, RR, go!
