Since when did crime rates actually relate to how much actual crime occurs?
That's not a trolling comment. Just because we don't have the actual statistics doesn't mean that the statistics we do have are real. We have a culture where a lot of people either don't like the police, don't trust the police, or feel they are better than the police. I have no idea how the UK sees the police, so I can't relate the cultural differences, but they are significant.
Disregard that, I suck cocks.
I asked this in the last gun thread but didn't get any actual responses. I asked if there is actual evidence where an increase in gun ownership in a city/country ended up lowering the crime rate. I think remyo said that yes that has been shown but he never presented any info to support it.
I think instead of arguing could be's and perhaps' that you should just look at any actual data that should probably exist somewhere where your hypothetical's actually were played out in the real world. It is like arguing whether the plane can take off on the treadmill without looking at the real world videos where the results are shown.
Sorry, ignoring the obvious portion which would anger someone like me, but it's the right of every American to be a bigoted, prejudiced piece of shit - if it's not, then you're committing thought crimes, and no one wants to have thought crimes."And yet while our problems may be new, what is required to overcome them is not. What is required is the same perseverance and idealism that those first patriots displayed. What is required is a new declaration of independence, not just in our nation, but in our own lives -- from ideology and small thinking, prejudice and bigotry -- an appeal not to our easy instincts but to our better angels."
Sup Thomas J, let me rip this piece of paper up because it's lol. The scariest thing is the cult of personality following Obama now, very similar to FDR in his early terms.
Not letting Iran own nukes is tyranny.
Well I can say I am loving the increased prices and lack of supply. Last year at this time I had 10 AK kits and about 20 5.56 stripped lowers along with around 6 complete M4 clones. As of right now I only have the guns I really wanted and sold everything else off in the last 3 months for an easy 200%+ profit. And the best part is as of last week most of the parts I sold to all the scared people are now becoming easily available back at the gun shops. Prices are dropping like a lead balloon around here and last couple gun shows I have gone to are once again becoming barren waste lands.
As for ammunition, well I reload. I can reload for close to 25% the cost of buying the ammo from the store. People that bitch about $400/k 5.56 rounds should just go buy a 5.54 and shoot the cheap surplus.
If Obama really wants to spend his time fighting the lolNRA rather than trying to figure out how to try and stabilize the economy then we are gonna be fawked no matter what. Most of you dont realize that the vast majority(me included) of gun owners buy them more for the fun than for the defense aspect of them. Hell if you are afraid of home intrusion stay away from the ar/ak and just go pick up a Saiga 12. Much better and twice as evil. I dont even have a pistol grip shotgun in my collection so you can see I have no use for a self defense gun. It takes me almost 10 minutes to even get to my safe and open it up
PS: Saw this at thought it was pretty funny.
http://www.theoutdoorwire.com/archives/2009-01-14Outdoor Wire Names Obama "Gun Salesman of the Year"
In recognition of the unprece*dented demand for firearms by nervous consumers, The Outdoor Wire has named President-elect Barack Obama its "Gun Salesman of the Year". For me, it was a simple fact of recognizing that without President-elect Obama's frightening consumers into action, the firearms industry might be suffering the same sort of business slumps that have befallen the automotive and housing industries.
It's credit where credit is due. Mr. Obama has consistently voted against individual rights to firearms, appointed a re-tread Clinton administration full of gun banners, and made it plain to anti-gun groups that despite what he might say to the contrary, he's on their side That history, along with the unquestioned support of anti-gun organizations has spooked consumers into a buying frenzy for firearms that could be outlawed in another Assault Weapons Ban.
I need to either get into reloading or find someone I can pay to reload for me.
How time consuming is it?
Really depends on what you are reloading. My buddy re-loads all my shotgun shells in trade for me reloading his .270 shells. His setup is pretty low range but he can still do roughly 50 rounds/hr. When I reload my 5.56 I can do roughly 300 rounds/hr. When it comes to reloading/speed it is all about how much $$$ you are willing to spend on equipment.
