Any luck buying AF+1 upgrade items?

just did a jp-pick up run of temenos-north, 6 man

the leader collected coins; rules were if you got your pick on af upgrade, no coins for you. so in a way, the more you get screwed on af items, potentially the more beneficial for you. Potentially.

We got Sch, Monkx2, Smn. -_-;

Made to 4th floor. For some reason I don't quite get, they picked item on floor 3 with less than 5 min left, instead of time. I can get that we were going for items and stuff and not the clear, but it seems like more time = more chest = more chances at getting what everyone was looking for (no one wanted mnk or smn)

4th floor demons would have been hard, but doable... 5th floor anticans would have been doable too. I'll grant that 6th and 7th floor was probably not something we could low man: Whm, Rdm, War, Nin, Blu, Sam.

But i suppose that's another model for trying to get af items.

Edit: Anyway, figure I'd just logout there and camp. Still looking to buy/charity Drg, Sam temenos item on seraph. Wouldn't say no to sch or blu either.

Update: I ended up luckily getting the apollyon RNG piece this morning.

I stood in the middle between where groups exit, and where groups enter at the tele-dem entrance since that's where a lot of people low man kings and RNG drops from the final kings chest.

I had some cheap food in my bazaar just so players /checked me and saw my bazaar message, and a search message up with something along the lines of:
Charcoal Cotton sell please
ranger apollyon synthesis materials
/tell or invite to join pt please

I also would /tell any PT leader inside when I arrived, and do a quick /say charcoal cotton sell ranger apollyon synthesis materials please whenever I saw a new group enter the zone, or exit a run.

I ended up buying it from a JP group exiting a magenta chip, kings, run. I paid them 100k for it.

From doing /sea "Apollyon" throughout the day/evening I found the best times to be either NA primetime 7-11pm EST which I was unable to "camp" because of LS events, or also early morning which I assume is a JP prime time 7am-10am EST. Thank you Martin Luther King for allowing me to have this day off and camp Apollyon this morning

Couple questions:
1.) Can you turn in more than 1 AF upgrade item per week?
2.) If I turn in both RNG pieces to Sagheera can I re-camp Apollyon and buy another Charcoal Cotton before next Sunday or will I get the Unable to hold this item message and lose it?

1. Can only do one per week.
2. Once Sagheera has it, it's considered out of your inventory and you can get another.

What a moron. My LS is strictly Apollyon-only, so I've had to buy my items from Temenos. Thus far, I've only had luck with BLU AF. I've been trying to get SCH AF for 100k for months. My group tends to overflow with some AF (Seen ~9 SCH AF+1 hit the floor), so we tend to sell given the chance.

I feel the same, people don't give a shit when they buy an item from a NM off the AH that they didn't camp. Even SE recognizes the sell of R/E items now, people need to get over it.

People seem really nice about it on Seraph.. Most of the groups that I've asked who aren't interested in BRD Apollyon have offered to give for free if it drops.

I was the OP here and bought pretty much all my RNG AF+1 items. What I did was this:
1. /translate "Charcoal Cotton"
2. Put something stupid in my bazaar and put on some weird looking gear set and put it in my bazaar comment. Charcoal Cotton Can I have It Sell Reward 100k /tell Invite to Join Party
2.5 Put the same bazaar comment in your search message
3. When a group entered the zone I'd say almost the same thing in /say and make sure their pt leaders were in the zone when I said it just buy doing a /sea and checking how many names were yellow
4. If I entered while there were Alliances inside I'd just /tell the leaders excuse me charcoal cotton sell reward 100k /tell please

Translating the item you want will save you the do you speak english chit chat that is probably annoying =p. Once I was /tell'd or invited I'd ask price 100k ok? Sometimes they said free, other times they said OK and I'd lot and say thank you /wait exit /trade or something along those lines.

Grats man. So you don't have to be in the limbus instance to lot, or what? You can just sit out by the portal and get invited/see the treasure pool? Or what?

You can be outside waiting on the entrance pad, in another part of the zone, whatever, so long as you're in the zone. Our LS does this occasionally if during a dual raid someone from the other side needs an AF+1 item.

Split alliance into 3 parties, enter 3 zones, reform ally, profit.

I bought a BRD Apollyon item (Brown Doeskin). I'd been running Limbus for months and months and it had dropped once but never again, and I needed at least one more to get my AF+1 legs. I started hanging out in the lobby during the day and asking lowman JP BLM crews as they entered the zone. Most of them were very nice about it, and eventually one group sold me the drop in exchange for 15 ABCs (5 of them in the group, so that was 3 extra coins each for the run).

Funnily enough, the next time my LS ran Apollyon the same item dropped and I was the only lotter. Somehow it didn't surprise me in the least, lol.

can also try posting on the websites of your servers top shells, if the have a Bazaar section. where LS members and non-LS members will post items they have to sale or want to buy. i got one rng item this way
