I say "my" strat because back when we were all figuring out the best way to farm this and get off the floor, I posted this strat in the original SSR thread and got alot of PMs thanking me for it from people that tried it with success and then promptly went 1/1 >.>.
My strat in that it is the strat we use and the strat I suggested in this thread and the last few CC threads. I know very well that many people use this and there were probably people that did this before I ever even saw CC. Either way, Im claiming it and charging a 15% surcharge for usage by anyone on your total alex for that run.
Thanx, Ive started frapping our runs, going to but up some vids of our paths and strats soon to help groups that are trying out new stuff.
that would definitely be much appreciated neo
Neo,
How many people do you go with in a "typical" run?
The times you posted for each floor just seemed fast to me
That's a nice idea, I always feel a good clear vid can say a whole lot more then just a couple of threads can. There's just a lot of issues when you'd FRAPS a salvage run. One being framerate/lag, I have FRAPSed stuff in FFXI before but I remember it really slowing down my system. Another issue (for me) is the space it will take, ~100 minutes of raw .avi takes up roughly 180Gb assuming 1 second of .avi at 30 frames per second is about 30Mb large (uncompressed). I do have a 1Tb USB harddisk but I'm not sure if it can keep up with the amount of data being sent to it if I tried to write directly to that HD (via USB). And finally I'm not very experienced in video editing, the last time I actually edited an .avi was back in 2000ish when I made .avi's for my q3a clan for fun and I used Adobe Premiere back then which I don't have anymore.
#2: Possible to lose hate completely with 2 x flee without the need to use PD or fanatics. You will need a 3rd flee to get back to the party though. Consider bringing 2 powder boots. Good for days when you don't get fanatics.
Move quick, use 1 boots, gather up all the mobs and flee south, use THF flee to shake off the hate (careful not to aggro wandering gears). Once hate is shaken off, pop the boots again to rejoin party on the north side. By the time you shake off the hate, they should be close if not at the porter room fighting the ramparts + chariot.
I have done this on RDM before.
It is also possible to outrun the gears with +12% movement speed, though it will take longer. One of my mnks love doing that with herald's when he aggros.
With 8-9 people those times should be accurate, however we havent gone with that many in a while. 6-7 is usually our number and we usually lag behind those time marks by about 2 minutes. Zone up from first floor around the 18-19 minute mark, and so on.
Our group is usually Mnk Mnk(or sam) Thf Brd/nin Brd/whm Rdm, then a pup/sch.
