GPU Temp Idle at 68 Celsius

This is worrying me and a friend says this is not normal and I do agree. My GPU is Idling at about 68-70 Celsius! I'm running an ATI Radion HD 2900 Pro. I have 1 Case fan a proc fan a fan on the video card and a fan on the power supply (All of these are pretty obvious)... Am I over reacting?

It's a bit warm. Make sure the fans are spinning on the card and that something isn't clogging it up (like pet hair or something)

I'm a bit afraid to actually take the heat pipes and cooling fan off from the video card but I did just remove it and use compressed air on it and it seems to improved a bit... 10 c lower.

they're hot, see if the latest catalyst control center lets you set fan speed manually.

I use 45% fan speed on my card, alot of them come out of the box set to 20% or so

When doing this, make sure you hold the fan in place. If you let it spin it can fuck it up pretty good. (unless you have a fan specifically built to be able to spin freely, which you should never assume unless you put it in yourself and know for a fact)

I will attest to this helping a lot. I don't care about the noise at all so if I think my card is running/idling too hot, I'll crank up the fan.

I've recently checked my temps again, I have an ATI HD 2600 with dual monitors running on the DVI inputs, and it runs FFXI & Browsing Etc @ 72C, but it will idle around 55 now instead of 60'ish like it used to, with the new fan settings. I would definitly up the speed a little, mine was @ 30%.

I have an NVIDIA GeForce 9800/9800 GTX+ that stays constantly at around 60C when running FFXI and other applications and even when idle. Is that an okay value? New computer I built about a month ago. What's a safe/acceptable value?
