10-22 was the first lens that came to mind, then I seen the price tag and thought, "you know some Kenko tubes would be nice".

Finally, a somewhat warm day to get the kid out and shoot. God, the trip to Florida next weekend cannot come fast enough.

Really like the second shot. I think I'm genetically programmed to think kids looking over the sides of bridges is cute.
Not really a photo, but it was shot entirely on a DSLR: http://www.vimeo.com/9961869 It's not the greatest, it was a 1 day shoot, and it was very cold. Very shaky footage and crap focus pulling. I learnt a lot though :D
I liked the lighting her her hair in the first one. Kids are just too darn photogenic![]()
Very nice. Tyche, not sure how yours is... but GODDAMN my child seems to think that "ok freeze!" actually means "Ok! Now move around a bunch and make a silly face totally changing the perfect 'candid' shot I just had goin..."
So fun. She is coming around though, and sometimes I just have to wait until she forgets I am taking pictures.
Here are a few rare cases of her cooperating...

Now a question. I have recently started shooting only RAW and nothing else. I quite enjoy it. I do think though that I am barely scratching its surface, and for ME I truly love the post-process part of the process.
Can anyone recommend a few good books on Camera RAW? I largely do my RAW editing in Adobe's RAW editor, but occasionally Lightroom 2. So if you know of any LR2 books that would be great as well.
Online resources for info/articles/tutorials I have plenty of. Sometimes it is nice to be able to kick back and read up on this shit though.

One from this weekend. Went to visit my parents and had a chance to head to the beach. I have a lot more photos from that day but I need to sort through them.
Graelinn those are really great. I love the gritty over exposed look. The first shot is my favorite. Something unsettling and interesting about how you can't see either persons face.
Camera RAW is very good, and in a nutshell does everything Lightroom does, but quicker.
I like lightroom more though because you can batch process (easier and more so than with camera RAW), auto import and backup as .DNG (should be doing this now!) catalog, etc and it's all nicely contained in one program.
For books, I haven't used any for just Lightroom, but the following books might help you.
- While this book does not cover Lightroom, it does cover Camera RAW very well, and is very helpful for beginners working in Photoshop CS4. Worth buying if you want to learn basic to intermediate techniques. http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Photosho.../dp/0321580095
- Same author as above. He knows what he's doing and writes easy to follow books and throws in humor as well. http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Photosho...8682574&sr=1-1
- Another great Photoshop CS4 book, covers a bit of lightroom as well, and incorporates it nicely into a workflow. http://www.amazon.com/Photoshop-Phot...8682625&sr=1-7
My workflow is generally;
- Import to Lightroom
- Adjust if necessary
- Export with auto resize OR export to photoshop
- Make final touches, apply toning, cloning, effects if required
- Resize, finalize
Thanks Moots! I added those to the list, for now I am going with these(since I ordered them just before checking back here in the post...) but i did have some trouble deciding on Martin's LR book over Kelbys. Scott Kelby's LR book is on my list already though... can't have too many so we will see. Powell's here has a great Technical Book Store outside of the hugeamongous main store... I am going to head over there and look for used copies of your recommendations.
Real World Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS4
and
The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 Book: The Complete Guide for Photographers
I wasn't going to get a LR2 book at first, but I wanted to really streamline my workflow there. Mine is near identical to yours (and yep, already convert to DNGs during import) but I am looking for other ideas/methods as far as cataloging goes.
At first I had the plan to have a main catalog, and then some others like my select shots (best) and a personal catalog. What i found though... was that it annoyed me to have to swap back and forth between them all. So i use one main import Catalog holding it all, and just categorize/flag/sort there.
Oh, also the Adobe made classroom in a book series are very good, and come directly from the people who make the software.

Not sure if anyone saw that Nikon is having some killer package deals this month. Some of them are really great if you have been thinking about picking up another camera body or pro lens.
Why the fuck would you buy a 18-200mm with a D700 or D3...
Please don't go to KenRockwell's site unless it's to DDOS it.
I am not sure what the connection between Ken Rockwell is and if you like or dislike the deals. He has nothing to do with the deals they are nikon package deals he just showed them on his website, FYI. Blame Nikon for giving deals with their FX cameras and DX lenses. I am not defending him just pointing out that you misunderstood.
Also the deals with the 70-200mm and the 24-70mm are good.
Cause Ken is a tool and I don't like supporting him with his links.

Not trying to dis you, just Ken, the douchebage self titled pro who is far, far worse than most amateur photographers.
Oh yeah I am not defending him at all. I simply meant that your understanding of what the deals were, was clouded by Ken's website which I only used because it was the only place where I saw them all listed in a chart like that. Thank you for the link you posted that is much more clear on what the deals are. Though it leaves out the 70-300mm VR deals which is also part of this.
I honestly don't know why they have deals for FX camera's paired with DX lenses. I was just letting everyone know there were good Nikon deals going right now. It had NOTHING to do with Ken Rockwell. The 70-200mm VR 2 deal with the D90 is really good, about a $400 discount.

Went back and visited home last weekend and took some photo's.
I took 415 pictures at Animal Kingdom yesterday. I've taken over 750 in 3 days in florida. I can't post any of them though, because I'm on my dad's laptop and no way to convert the raws =/
Also, everyone hates you because of where you live Zoober.
