Car Radio Problem

So I have a old...very old 1992 bmw 325i which is broken in so many ways that its not even funny. The biggest problem I have had recently with it though is the radio.

About 2 months ago I parked my car outside and there was a massive wind storm which smacked my car around...a lot. The next day the radio would turn on and it would seem fine but then suddenly after 10 seconds a blaring static sound can be heard from the door speaker (I think) that is way louder then any radio sounds the speakers emit.

I'm not much of a audio guy but I'm assuming either some wires got crossed or the speaker is just completely blown out. I'm hoping someone here would know how to fix this horrible thing. Thanks

is this just happening with the radio? what about tapes and/or cds. If it's just the radio then the wind probably whipped around your antenna and broke a connection somewhere and it's screwing with the reception somehow. If it is tape etc as well then you should figure out if its just one speaker or all of the speakers doing it, will help figure out if its just a speaker or the deck, but both are unlikely because wind shouldn't be rattling anything on the inside of your car.

nah I plugged my ipod into the thing and it was doing the same thing ....thats how I knew it had to be a speaker thing

I figure ill just replace my whole system because this whole thing is really annoying me. Can you get non bmw factory speakers or do they force you to only get factory ones?

According to Crutchfield you will be able to get any speakers that fit these specs;
In-dash stereo
7-1/16" depth;
Size code E,S,U

Front speakers
Kick Panel: 5-1/4"

Rear speakers:
Rear Deck: 4"
