Cannot Ping Out, CAN get online

Hey guys, little bit of an unusual situation. While I have no problems getting online or anything, I have been unable to ping out via a ping command to any site. Only recent change to the equipment has been the modem itself (swapped to an RCA brand modem from an Arris). Any ideas?

perhaps either your firewall or your ISP is filtering ICMP traffice which would prevent pings

You can use tracert instead of ping to follow the route and see where it's stopping may give you some insight.

Can you at least ping the router/modem?

The modem might be configured to block ICMP for some reason. Might be able to adjust it depending on how customizable that modem is.

Strange, seems to have cleared itself up. Perhaps an ISP issue?

I have this trouble every so often. I chalk it up to random windows being weird thing and just restart if nothing else works.

yep or the sites specifically, unless others can ping those same sites when you could not.
