Eh, I'm not too concerned with losing my acct. What we did was an exploit, no matter how you try to justify it. So, we all knew we were taking some risk by doing this. If it is permanent, we're just getting what's coming to us. :/

Chances are, a sting operation won't go to the crack house and tell them they're planning a sting operation for the 24th of January so they better leave. However here..they even told people they're investigating the matter (even at the fan festival!) and that the repercussions would be determined at a later date. So those of you who figured "LOLSE WON'T DO A GODDAMN THING!"...got proven wrong I'm afraid.

Who knows, they take temp suspensions (2-3 days) to review those accounts, if nothing raises flags..it is lifted, if there's flags being thrown all over the place well permaban city for you.

Destinye has been the closest person I can agree with.

Like he said, what was done was against the ToS they didn't have to WARN about what you were doing. They could ban without that message in the first place so long as you went against the ToS.

First time offense? If it was done like once, sure just give a temp ban and "remove" the said duped item (I really hope they did this tbh, 72 hour ban and let them keep their duped crap is kinda stupid but that is more OPINION than anything).

If this was done multiple times, even if it was the only "crime" you did, then the perma banned is deserved. Committing a crime multiple times until caught doesn't necessarily give you a lighter sentence if you did it once as your first crime.

You also have to remember, SE is above the normal laws of the real world. They can ban everyone right now if they wanted. Instead, they follow rules in the, yes I am going to say it again, ~~~TOS~~~ that WARNS you AHEAD of time to not pull this type of thing or result in a BAN. It has been too long since I read the ToS but I am sure they could perma ban even if it was your first offense if they wanted to.

Are the main people complaining in regards to "SE's fault" the ones who got temp/perma banned? This is their realm, their law, live with it or go back to Runescape.
