Something tells me that they won't be updating salvage drop rates ever. If I'm proven wrong whatever, just my theory though.
And I guess you can't tell by my post that I obviously don't care either. Whether or not you got banned is irrelevant, because the action they took was right. You can argue very vehemently that they don't care about their player base, or you could argue that they just don't care very much for people who don't obey rules.
In the end neither matters because people will be playing till they shut it down.
NO ONE CARES IF YOU ARE LEAVING GO AWAY!
And yes if people see SE knocking out the players using glich's (IE Most likely are using bots as well) They will stay. You know how many friends I've lost because they are sick of not getting to fight mobs that are fun? Because gliching and botting dickholes claim it nearly 100% of the time? I'm sorry if SE really found out a way to kill ffxi app.... i know a lot of people that would return to this game to play it like it should be played. This game isn't dead, its not going to die any time soon, no matter how many of the "elite" get banned there is always 100 people ready to fill their shoes. get over it, your not important, your friends are not important, go ride a fucking bike.
Ok if you don't care about the topic then why are you posting on it? Have nothing better to do? Either way I'm sure you could be finding something more productive to do with your time, to be honest your 5k or whatever posts don't make you a god or something, you can spam forums all you want and no one will read your pointless bullshit. If you don't care, go away.
It definitely stems from a shit drop rate, but that's FFXI in a nutshell. I agree with you on the point that the crappy drop rates created a rarity in the item and encouraged people to use this dupe. The thing that gets me is, SE has increased drop rates on items in the past, and we will never know if they would have done this if the people doing the duping had chosen not to. Any negative attitude I may have directed at people that are banned stems from the simple fact that they have made poor choices and been arrogant about their success, which was gained through cheating. I also think it is rediculous that people on my server are now able to kill things (fafnir) that they couldn't do before the bannings because of the bots that those people were using. A majority of players are better off without those individuals in the game, despite anything that they say to the contrary... and I, for one, am enjoying every second of the transition. It was long overdue.
Dammit where's the unicorn news. I gots to know if RH has finally bit it.
Remember back in elementary school when you did projects?
"If you need to ask[about the subject], you probably can't do it."
It's kinda like that.
I'm loving all this. Not so much that it happened a few days after I moved to Asura, but I didn't really move for the endgame in the first place. Fun times.
Several people have claimed that they duped a lot of gear, some gear, or 1 piece of gear and only were given a warning. While some who didn't recieve any gear via the glitch, some, to a lot have received temp and perma bans. Personally the people who got perma banned probably deserved it in many cases. I know I did. But that's besides the point. Either way you look at it they either didn't have enough proof to ban some people or it was completely random. I'd probably say that it was more than likely the first of those two.
Forgive me for tweaking the stick stuck up your ass. Never said I was leaving. Never said I was important. I gave the opinion that overall this is bad for the long-term survival of the community and the game is at least dying in some small capacity. You obviously disagree, here's a cookie for having a differing opinion. It's a wonderful thing isn't it?
