I'm glad my ls didnt know about the glitch. The saturday one would have actually used it and got me banned even if I personally beleive that I'd have refused to use it.( they woulda managed to use it at least once before I realized they were duping)
Any news on neosutra? I think i remember him saying he tried the glitch but it never worked since nothing ever dropped. it would suck for him to be perma banned right after gettting usu body to finally drop even if I think he shoulda known better.
people who cry here = banned
people who laugh here = legit
sad but fact
Yes the End Game community is a huge part of the game but that doesn't give them a free pass to do whatever they want. A large part of the End Game community has become endowed with an entitlement complex the size of a small planet and that has caused its own share of problems.
Look at all those shitstorm shells that popped up everywhere after server transfer service was offered. People who felt completely justified in botting/cheating because they didn't want to wait for their gear and compete fairly with other shells came out of the woodwork.
Did someone really take a poke at Jackyl? Ya...praise him for helping out the endgame scene for a long time then turn on him at the drop of a hat.
As for the people who said "you should have reported it". Notice that ALOT of people knew about the dupe trick, but they themselves didn't report it. If they would have, perhaps quite a few bannings would not have taken place. Try to laugh at people when their down and you'll end up getting dragged through the mud too.
What? Since when is it not perfectly fine to watch someone meet the consequences of doing something stupid/wrong?Originally Posted by Tyche
All too often people break the rules and there's no fallout. Today, at least some of the people who cheated have been caught, and you can fucking bet I'm laughing -or at the very least, pleased.
the people who got caught it this "bad programmer trap" will be the same people who never got caught for the other "bad programmer traps" botting, pos hacking, etc...
Oh and to all the people who think that the empty void of endgamers is gonna kill this game ROFLMAO... you won't be missed and there are thousands that have been waiting for a fair chance...
Wow...
I am very glad that my salvage group of old never heard or used that exploit.
BTW This reminds me of the thread when the exploit was discovered and fixed. A lot of people who used the exploit thought they were going to escape punishment. Pride cometh before the fall I suppose...
Right...because these bannings were so all-encompassing there are magically no more botters anywhere! Where did you get those rose-colored glasses, I want a pair.
I don't know which is more retarded: people using the exploit and expecting no consequences, SE going all out in response to their inability to QA their shit worth a damn, or the intensive levels of smug being exhausted here by the high-and-mighty twats who feel the need to stand up on their soap box at the wee hours of the morning.

Oh, and I didn't use the exploit. And I'm glad I never heard about it either, because I'm pretty sure someone would have pushed for its use.
Because perhaps people who don't assume they're above everyone else and take advantage of anything or anyone at the slightest chance are happy to finally see some retribution?
Not wee hours of the morning here, I'm enjoying my lunch and watching some shitty soap opera on TV atm![]()

Rationalization isn't an excuse for actions.
However, rationalization is a pre-requisite for people to behave in ways to bipass rules. Square Enix really didn't make any attempt to diminish the causation that lead to the rationalization.
Case in point: Neosutra's 1/225 on Usukane Body, and me still being 0/225 on Ares Legs.
It was said earlier in the thread, if banned its a great way to bow out of the MMO scene, not restart a new one.
Obviously I'd like to think my group and I aren't perma-d, but if so, oh well, it's not like anyone going in had no warning/reason to worry. However, since I've had time to think, 400+550 seems really low.
I've played since the PS2 release (March 23rd 2004) and have 0 GM warnings. There is 40mil in gil and another 60mil in sellables on my account, along with N.head and E.body abjurations. Didn't report this because it was too good an opportunity to waste.
In my opinion, my largest offense is merciless reselling on my rather infamous Rolanmart mule Mrt that makes sure no one ever gets a good deal on Garuda, bwahahahahaha.
Seriously though, if this is a perma my largest regret will be that I couldn't give out my stuff and didn't know to pass the abjurations before I went.
