I am not here to judge these ppl but I can't help thinking what would have happened to me if I didn't leave Seraphi and was still doing Salvage with them.

To be honest I don't think some of them deserve permaban. Daz, Ysukie, Nunuu and Redbun are dedicated players and they helped me build my own salvage group 2 years ago when noone would join because I am not from a big HNMLS. I trusted them and we had a great time working as a team until they decided to leave BJ to start their own salvage group for some really stupid reasons. Before they left, Ysukie/Nunuu/Rebun all have 4/5 Usukane, Daz has full Marduk and Morrigan's Robe (which was never upgraded as far as I know) and another player with 4/5 Ares set whose name should not be revealed since he was not involved in the cheat. Daz left because he felt BJ should never do double run and Ysukie's gang left because I "forced" them to do at least ONE ZNM per week.

We lost 2 MNK tank, one BRD and another backline job which completely crippled us. At one point BJ was down to 5 members and we almost disbanded. Luckily ppl decided to stay and rebuild the LS. 6 months later we are back on track, with enough ppl to do double run consistently and have made some decent progress in ZNM. More importantly we never discover the dup cheat. I can't imagine being resposible for this mess and get ppl banned because of my action.

When SE announeced the ban it immediately reminds me of Ysukie's salvage group. They seem to have unusual drop rate - double Macha's slops, Macha's coat etc within weeks of starting their salvage group, for a new group they seem to be doing exceptionally well in term of clearing NMs + megaboss. It's obvious now they probably duplicate cells to make salvage runs easier.

My heart sank when I saw their names on the list. If they haven't left us I would have found out the cheat, used it to improve drop rate and got banned myself. What happened to them really shocked me because as a Buddhist I am a firm believer in karma. I just hope they only get temp banned, there are other cheaters on Midgardsormr who deserve a perma ban more than these ppl.

Actually, we left BJ in July, we weren't told of the glitch until two weeks before Thanksgiving, the only 35 piece we glitch'd was Usukane Gote which we were already capped on, and also a morrigan's robe. For what it's worth, everything else was legit and such. I just wanted to help my FRIENDS in EndlessPrelude complete pieces, the glitch wouldn't have benefited me at all and such. Only thing I'm sorry about is getting a few of my members banned, hopefully temporary.

I wanted to leave BJ long before I did, but wanted to keep a promise to Nubun regarding Haramaki and such. You kicked Daz and Dixus for questioning the fact that you wanted to recruit 14 or so people for Salvage to split up to farm zones and your stupid "Observer Idea" to let complete strangers join our salvage runs to learn how we do things. Daz and Dixus were so damn dedicated, it's a joke that you say BJ was created by friends on your website.

You threatened to disband BJ on more than one occasion for me merely suggesting to you that we farm a Weapon cell in AR for the THF on 1F, or Nubun asking why the hell you were getting cells before anyone else in SSR as Tarutaru NIN/DNC. You got everything you needed from BJ, 14-16 pieces? Then SE added ZNM, and you wanted to stop doing Salvage so you get ZNM gears for yourself. You threatened to kick Nubun, once again, two of your most dedicated members, because they were too busy In Real Life, to be able to show up to kill your ZNMs. Damn right we left. Two months after we had left, you were STILL asking us to come back and take over leadership of BJ so that you could quit the game.

Dunno what else to say to you, any arguing with you is pointless.

YOU specifically might not want more SAM's like that.. but guess what, you elitist people are a vast minority of the people on FFXI. People that visit FFXI forums are a vast minority of the people in game for that matter! This game sure as hell DOES need more people like that.

Do you really believe that because someone can't devote their life to a video game, that they don't belong in that game? I used to play a lot.. a LOT.. but I had to quit doing that long ago, which annoyed me, and caused me to quit completely as I was never able to reach any of my goals. I've come back and quit many many times for the same reasons.. but I'm back now. I'm back because I love the game. I don't get to play much at all.. some days I get 1 hour, other times I'll miss a week or two entirely.

At the end of the day, FFXI is not "supposed" to be a job.. it's "supposed" to be a game... just because people like you don't think so, doesn't mean that FFXI doesn't need more people that actually do enjoy it for what it's "supposed" to be.

People shouldn't be defined as "good" players by the number of hours they can sit online. There is NOBODY that couldn't get every piece of amazing gear in the game if they could put forth the time to do so. I knew someone who was handicapped that played FFXI, and had to move their character using a mouth-stick.. Guess what, that person had much slower reflexes than other people due to the disability, but yet that person had amazing gear as well! Why do you think that is? Oh yea, it's because they had the TIME to get it.

I'm 100% confident that the SAM in question (sorry, forgot name) is a good SAM. Thinking otherwise based solely on the fact that he is "brave" enough to admit that he doesn't have the money and/or means to get the best gear, is foolish.

FFXI is not a "skill" based game.. Buying gil, botting, and cheating don't make you "skilled!" Why people don't realize that is beyond me. Sure, it takes some skill to do a few things here and there.. but in the grand scheme of things, and compared to many other MMO's for that matter.. FFXI really doesn't require that much. Most of the "elite" players watch tv during their events.. so how much skill could they really have/need? Are you so "skilled" that you can watch tv? Or have you done the same shit so many times that you could do it in your sleep? Have you become "skilled" because you have the time to do that event over and over again? I can drive home from work half asleep.. does that mean I should be a race car driver because I'm so skilled at driving? No.. it means I drive the same streets every day, and have done so for years.. it's become a mindless task.

I'm sure this was too long for many people on these boards to read, but I'm sorry, the stuck up responses that some people give on ALL of the FFXI forums is just insane.. and incredibly sad. You are not special because you can devote this much time to a game.. and nobody thinks you are. The special people, in my opinion, are the ones who can truly enjoy it for what it is.. a game.
