Spoiler: show
This is what SE did to endgame and everyone else that got banned from this!
No, I shouldnt. One was enough for me. I actually have a life. And yes, the last time I have been on here was in march. I have only been on here 2 times, once to figure out how to install EN ffxi in JP POL Registery, and a 2nd time to discuss these bannings.
But really, I do have a life. Infact, Im getting bored of this thread and going to bed now. Farewell forever, enjoy bragging about how you legitimately obtained morrigan legs and are better than everyone else because the game only drops one of those and it chose you![]()
... go do something productive instead. -.- This is probably the biggest waste of time you could ever do (and yes, bigger waste of time than playing FF/any MMO).
Seriously can't be fun to constantly yell at these people, and if you keep it up, I'm certain someone's gonna start teh trollings.
Who said Jailers' drop rates were necessarily broken? Now you're attempting to decide for yourself what needs balancing when that is SE's job since they're the ones behind the design and the ones with the research necessary to make such a decision. Those exploiting this bug, may have prevented SE from doing just that - being able to correctly deduce what and how much balancing the Salvage system needed.
You're still fishing for absurd reasons for hating the dupers. Probably because the legitimate reasons aren't fueling your desire to still be pissed, which has allowed you to drown out the lack of contentment you figured this banning would bring. Because even though these big bad cheaters are gone, the same in-game frustrations are still there, and now you have 550 less people to blame them on.
Now I'm fishing a bit, but I imagine I'm not too far off the mark.
Ok, first of all, I don't hate the dupers. Keeping it real, if I had known about the dupe trick myself, I can't say for sure whether or not I would be banned right now myself. I'd like to think I wouldn't be as shady as the community was in how they kept it a secret, but then again, I don't do salvage, so I have no idea how I would react to it.
That said, if I ever had used the exploit and ended up being banned, I wouldn't be surprised. SE probably really does take inventory of things such as how many completed pieces the NPC is spitting out, how many hours are spent in Salvage, how many people enter during such and such time frames, etc, in determining if the Salvage system is balanced. So yeah, double/tripling the drop rate is going to impact that. Its not an absurd reason if you take a little bit of time to consider how SE has done things over the years concerning the testing of their product.
The rationalization rolls in right on time~ "The punishment is too harsh! This game is too hard we deserved to dupe! *Whine whine*" Sorry, but everyone who plays this game clicked yes to their terms of service. They can ban you for anything. All this just shows how much a slave to Square these people were/are.
Seriously. Hilarious stuff.
If I got banned, I would ask them to prove that I actually dupped these items. Even if knowing that I did exploit, I would demand to see these logs.
llololololol fucking win +1 i fell out of my chair laughingThis is what SE did to endgame and everyone else that got banned from this!
you dont have any rights in the game other than what in the TOS (which is subject to change, at any time)
In the end, I'd say i like to see some of those names bolded in the list, and at the same time id have to say SE has a stick up their butt.
however, the most we got out of this example was how many people piss and moan over "I only did it once"
and how many people can exhibit that "holier than thou" attitude.
this has to be the most interesting thing to happen in ffxi since people lined up for their NPC's.
Bottom line is, they are doing business in america and their customer service is, by my unbiased opinion, selfish self serving greedy and careless. America has higher standards. They dont care if you personally call and complain, but if this got into a newspaper they will bow their heads and say sorry "we didnt mean it, but it was still your fault but here you go we change it ok thank you 20 dolla ^.^" I think people would be less upset about being banned if SE actually considered and cared.
America has high standards?
and here i thought this was the place supermalls were invented.
perhaps standards set by unbacked fear of the communists poisoning your food.
You know what I am so frustrated about now, every single person who keeps blindly stating the terms of service as reasoning for the banning. I know personally that several of the people in THIS THREAD who have cited it as a reason use the AGAINST ToS WINDOWER & OTHER THIRD PARTY APPLICATIONS how can you be so fing hypocritical. I mean I have not wavered at all in this issue, SE is setting a very bad precedent that makes me and many others very very frustrated. If SE was smart (like that makes any sense) they would have removed the illegal acquired gear and that would have been it. I would like to cite two xmases ago I believe there was a glitch where you got the Snowmen before the event started and you were forced to drop them. The same thing could have happened here.
