So all the people out there riding this forum on their white high horse can really honestly say you've never cheated? Taxes? Traffic?

Cheated? Nope, never been banned or even suspended. How do you cheat Traffic? lol. Why is it so hard to believe not everyone is out to cheat shit in life.

Morality aside, people broke the rules fine. Lots of people seem so quick to judge and forget that alot of us left are losing friends and shells, people we've known for 4+ years. People that beyond exploiting something stupid, are very nice and very much wanted in game. Did you all lose any friends? I'm just waiting till GM centers up to know how many friends I'm gonna have to say goodbye to.

The reality of the situation is that these people do not deserve the punishment afforded to them, nor do I deserve to suffer the repercussions of my friends actions. Punishment sure, saying goodbye...that's just not acceptable to me.

To all the people saying that who ever got banned deserved it, I'd like to say otherwise.
I knew about the dup glitch and I did it 4 times before it got fixed and I got a Nyzul
piece out of it, yet i left work to go home and check if I had gotten canned and
I didn't even get a letter from them, on the other hand my wife who didn't know anything
about the glitch nor was she ever a pt leader nor did she ever get a piece out of the whole thing
just got canned with a LM-17 she was in the same static as me, I always explained how it worked
I was always PT leader she was in the same 4 runs we tried this in, she never opened her mouth about it,
yet SE decides she gets the ban stick..... That is total and complete utter bullshit.

She's even on PS2, I use APRadar + windower to do my ENM hagun... WTF.... why didn't i get banned,
she absolutely did not deserve this.

My group knew about the dupe for a while, tried it once, celebrated it worked, and probably would have done it some more had we had the opportunity. For that, we get a 3 day ban. Works for me. Takes an average of 3 salvage days to get one 35 peice anyways, so I guess it's fair. Time to go get a tan.

Only reason Im even a little upset is it fucks up our schedule. Give us a fucking notice next time assholes Q.Q.

You're right. FFXI has probably had the strictest policy on duping out of any MMO I've played. I remember when I played EQoA people used to dupe all kinds of stuff like CV's, Tunar, etc. Gms gave them a slap on the wrist, if that.

I'm surprised. They cracked down hard on duping in EQ1 in the early days.

I've probably lost some friends to this..but guess what? You can easily keep in touch with them if they're your real friends and not just people you assume are friends. Why should friendship stay online in-game? Talk to them outta game if they're good friends.

On topic, I agree with most people's opinion that first offense on your account should've been a 3 day ban.... But hearing people who have never had a strike against their account get perma is kinda stupid. Whereas I'm totally for the punishment of perma banning repeat offenders.

This thread is better served supporting the players in this. Pointing and laughing at high-caliber people and saying 'you got what you deserved' is like going years and never getting a Hecatomb Cap (you know who you are.)

I'm a firm supporter of disposing of blatant cheaters, but this was different, and everyone involved knows it. You grandstanders out there who say different were never around or don't know enough to make an informed decision. Best to support everyone and hope they all come back. If not, this game is dead.

People who were frustrated by the Salvage drop rates and went to duping? That was a moral compromise. It may very well been a rational decision. But you knew the risks, and you got caught. You have to accept the responsibility.

I took the hard road when it was necessary. I bit my bullets and did whatever was necessary to obtain my items *legitimately* no matter the struggle. I left behind a lot and sacrificed quite a bit. I made all those sacrifices instead of buying my items or joining shells with a blatant of moral standards where I could have gotten my items. You had the same opportunities to take the hard road in Salvage.

If you didn't, that was ultimately your choice and something you bear the responsibility for.

SE tells you report exploits to them or else they won't get fixed. The point is:

NO ONE WANTED TO REPORT THIS EXPLOIT AND INSTEAD ABUSED IT.

So once it got out..look at how fucking quickly it got patched.

Never said they didn't deserve to be punished, but to be removed from the community in which they have been nice helpful contributing members.. that's too much. They help others, they contribute to the community via things like enmity testing, crafting etc. They dont go arround mpking or messing with the economy.

Alot of good and bad people got banned from what i can see, some major lses who did alot of the salvage testing when it first came out so others could understand it better and major botting lses.

Seriously? Like I said, I did it. I fully accept the consequences of my actions. Should we parade around about getting banned, absolutely not.
