Face it, the JPs just didn't abuse it as much as the NA/EUs. They weren't lazy bitches about it, looking for an easy cheat.

Furthermore, it's easier for NA/EUs to blame SE (or anyone else) for being "inconsistent," "heavyhanded" or "JP loving" rather than owning up to the fact that they are fucking morons for cheating in the first place, and that maybe, JUST maybe, "everyone does it" was not true.

Not a very regular reader of his so excuse me if this has been posted to death, but I think Elmer has quite a few talking points relavent to what has been discussed here. And one thing I hadn't considered fully I suppose is the willingness of JP players to step forth and essentially say in their culture, "I'm a criminal", which would account more towards the lack of reporting.

Probably because the Japanese don't have a highly trafficked forum that they could make a report like this on. That, and unless it changed, a lot of the Japanese on Unicorn stick to themselves and don't really hang around with NA people.

Funny as it is, lots of Japanese say the same thing about us: about how SE treat us better than them. Guess people always want to believe in the greener other side. I believe I read in 1 eh... thread, that one Japanese said "At least they are banning the NA and not just JP.", so yeah, pot, kettle, black? Sorta.

Oh, I'm sure some Japanese got banned. No doubt about that. we don't even have a complete list of who got banned temp or perma, thus making it likely that some JPs got banned in the process.

Also, I've seen that JPs aren't entirely favoured either. Here's a story:

One time a US Dynamis LS was doing Dynamis - Xarcabard, as planned, for two weeks ahead. All of the sudden a JP LS appears out of nowhere, and enters the, despite the fact that more than half of the said LS were already there. Regardless, one of the US Dynamis member managed to get a shell from the JP through trade, then later on, that LS joined with JP. They went on, killing the demon NMs. By the time they got to the second set (MNK, BST, WHM), the JP started MPKing them. Same with the fourth set. (THF, SMN, PLD). Later on, it all ended and time ran out, only that they met with a JP GM. We could tell that the JP LS were trying to get compensation and getting the US LS in trouble for MPKing them, when they started first. All the GM did was to laugh at them an said "lolno, u gave them glass, lol".

Moral of the story: JPs don't get as much favour.

We just don't hear about it as much because the JP community is spread out amongst many different small forums and message boards compared to the NA community which has fairly large online communities to post on.

Well I definitely didn't mean to incite a JP bashing rant out of anyone, but I guess I had been somewhat shocked that the JP bias card wasn't being thrown around more than it had been.

I'm still left with a bitter feeling about all of this. Not because I don't agree with the bannings, but there's something wrong with the system when someone can do this a handful of times, a la Kaeko's case and seemingly receive a permanent ban, while others can abuse this for months and not even receive a letter. I guess that's why part of me hopes there will be a round 2 to make up for these oversights even though it may cost me more friends.

It's bound to happen. We've all seen where JP sometimes seem to get favours when we don't. Look at the JP interview and compare it to US interview with SE devs.

False. The community's known about it for 18 months if not longer. Folks have posted in every lm-17 thread that GM calls were made more than a year ago. SE did not find out about this 2 days before it was patched.

I was making the statement based on past calls on other things, but not specifically this one. Off the top of my head, the one I can think of is the when a mob can be claimed even though you had it "claimed." Used to happen all the time at KB, randomly at Fafnir, just silly things that would make the mob go unclaimed for that 1 second where someone else would steal it... Call a GM and it was "working as intended." I didn't specifically mean this glitch/event was ever replied to with WAI.

Though I do agree with you, I don't know if it's bias, the inherent and unreasonable split in enforcement between JP and everyone else, or if it was because of they really didn't do anything.

Our JPs won't even log onto other friend's accounts b/c it's technically against ToS. Not all JPs are boyscouts but most of ours are.

That being said, when you are on in JP prime time and search salvage and there are about 50 names in Zham and 25 of them are yellow, my guess is that some groups knew. Talking about conspiracy theories and stuff does not good though.
