Suckers. Enjoy your ban.
You know you were doing wrong, doesnt matter if it was a flaw in the system or not.
450 posts and still no Niki, or any of those other fags from the dup patch thread!?
Ugh, to even cheat square out of one insect wing... unthinkable.
FFXI is so user friendly and well made that the concept of trying to circumvent the brilliant challenges in place makes me physically ill. What sort of sick monster would destroy the game by trying to get more gear out of a low yield event? I sometimes see thieves wearing Treasure hunter +1 gear to abuse drops. I tried reporting it to a GM but I got a stupid gajin who told me "thank you for your concern" It's exactly the same sort of thing so I suggest you guys wearing AF2 hands and that knife on your THF knock it off before you get banned.
Whelp, in the end guess people will be more wise to actually report exploits instead of abusing them, that way we won't have this "ROFL FUCK YOU MORAL THUMPER" and "I CHEATED BUT I DIDN'T DESERVE TO BE BANNED" argument thing.
/wakes up
Ah..what a nice dream.
There you go...trying to rationalize cheating.
I can't believe you just threw in something about coded game mechanics that was meant to help with drops.
This has got to be the most self-absorbed statement in this thread haha.. I've been doing Salvage for quite some time now and have 4 Full pieces to show for it, completely legit, more power to me I guess but I couldn't be more glad that this is happening to all the dupers TBH, *cut & paste* generic "You got what you deserved" Comment here.
I didn't know about the trick untill it was released fullreign in the ninja-maint debacle.. but you can be DAMN sure I wouldn't 2nd think trying it you know why?..
I lost 2 Accounts in EQ1 to retarded dupeing so I know how unrelenting developers can be in retaining their integrity (cause that's what we fcking did, we assaulted their integrities as developers by abuseing a glitch they implemented not of their own accord..)
It's really pathetic you guys didn't see this coming months ago when they Ninja-patched it and started flocking here bragging like idiots.
Really the only thing that can sum up this thread of now mudslinging (tried to read the whole thing..) is this lol~
*End* Wall'o'text ~ /rant off.. wtfever
P.S. Before some1 calls me a "Troll that signed up just to poke fun".. I've been a member since a stupid drama occurance to post and have since yet come to BG to read the Media Section and good Drama threads (Such as this one~) when I'm bored out of my mind between HNM Windows.
All this thread makes me want to do is lol heartily at the naiveté of people who came on these forums stomping their feet saying that SE couldn't or wouldn't do anything to players who exploited this glitch. I mean, really? I can't believe you think you can just do things with impunity. >.>
That said, permaban seems a bit harsh imo... unless it's a 3rd or 4th offense for someone. Just tempban, mark the account, and take away their Salvage/Nyzul/whatever gears.
Although, on the other hand... a hardline approach certainly sends a message...
Why are they banning the people that duped salvage drops? The only people to "suffer" from this should be the people who duped sandworm drops, and even then I don't believe they should. This was SE's shitty programming and unlike the infamous COP NPC bug, this one didn't destroy the economy. If anything, it lowered prices on all the items across the board. I could take the moral high ground, but I fully admit I would've abused this to hell and back if I'd known about it prior to it being disabled. I won't lie in the least bit.
If SE's 'new' logs are as detailed as they claim them to be, I fail to see why punishing those with the intent to make gil off the endeavour wouldn't be the best course of action. Simply lumping anyone who duped anything together is stupid, because I've already seen someone I know LM'ed over what came to be cell-duping. OH MY GOD. Burn them all alive.
The logic they have in regards to game decisions is absolutely stupid sometimes. By SE's logic, everyone who breaks the speed limit by 1-2 MPH coasting down a hill should be locked up as long as someone who went on a murdering spree. (Parallel being the guy in cell-duping getting LM'ed just like someone who duped for pure profit. SE has already proven that duping/circumvention for profit is an /extreme/ no-no they ban for.)
Also, no LM-17 before you call me on QQ'ing over a ban.
"It is easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission."
A fool and his dupes are soon parted. Enjoy the bans, gentlemen.
Glad I didn't know about the trick![]()
I had a dream too, where my naruto dat mods would be embraced here.
Yeah, too bad the dream is RUINED by this forum full of people who FIGURE OUT NUMBERS and turn the magic of FFXI into a NUMBER GAME. Ugh. How dare they?
Figures the same people who destroyed absolute virtue, a sign of the might of japan and the hope of a reemergence of imperial power are the ones who, in the end, dastardly tried to ROB poor square enix of their hard earned alexandrite and 35 pieces.
Also, to think we would be sympatheic to people who's unobtrusive abuse of a bug that QA missed but they found on accident? Please. The mere thought of considering years of non related effort put to waste is terrible. It's like when there was a tsunami and everyone was outpouring support? I was sitting there saying 'well duh, you live on the beach you deal with the waves stupid'
Aww, muffin.
If it was just a game error, then it would have effected everyone. It didn't.
That being said.. the punishment is kind of harsh when you consider how many people would have totally been willing to do it had they known about the exploit. The number would have been much higher if the knowledge was more out there. If SE had just made the drop rate reasonable, less people would have known or cared to use an exploit to actually get something.
I didn't get banned, but it isn't like I don't deserve one either so I am not going to take the high horse position![]()
