Ugh, to even cheat square out of one insect wing... unthinkable.

FFXI is so user friendly and well made that the concept of trying to circumvent the brilliant challenges in place makes me physically ill. What sort of sick monster would destroy the game by trying to get more gear out of a low yield event? I sometimes see thieves wearing Treasure hunter +1 gear to abuse drops. I tried reporting it to a GM but I got a stupid gajin who told me "thank you for your concern" It's exactly the same sort of thing so I suggest you guys wearing AF2 hands and that knife on your THF knock it off before you get banned.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you don't like the game, the way it works, or the people in it, log the fuck out and play something else. If you want to bash SE, hold up a viable, comparable alternative, or go develop one. If you want to rationalize fucking over thousands of legit players because of your laziness, don't expect to find sympathetic ears here.

People like you make me sick. Just because you find an unlocked window doesn't mean you rob the house, and you sure as hell don't blame the homeowner for assuming that people at least practice basic decency.

Threads like this really annoy me more than anything -- All of the 'moral high ground' people always come out of the woodwork, to preach at us of lower moral caliber.

Yeah -- I duped in Salvage. When's the last time you went 4 months in SSR, going near daily, without a drop? I used it out of desperation, and I only ever got ONE drop from it, which I would have gotten anyway. Yeah, I used an exploit. Yeah, everyone here QQing used an exploit. SE gave us the shitty flawed system they did -- If they paid any attention to the userbase, they'd have known of the problem MUCH faster, and could have fixed it without all of this.




I can honestly say that I duped simply because of SSR. No other zone made me so angry, or disheartened me so much. If SE had given SSR more than 0.05% drop rates, I would have never even thought about duping like that.

I have been here since the start, on my high horse, on many different issues. I have gone many months of SSR runs with nothing to show for it.

I'll humor you though: Do you completely and utterly disagree with how AV was killed? How PW was killed? I personally don't, but if you're going to take that line of thought, all the AV kills and the sole PW kills were exploits and EVERYONE who participated should be banned.

If you do think that, you're a fucking hypocrite and should just kill yourself.

On this point, I do not think that the kill methods were illegal. They used basic game mechanics, but no sensible person could realistically think that something which clearly makes duplicate items drop is the same type of thing.

Think of it in pure cash terms. Some people play the market and get rich from speculation. It's all risky, and the bigger the risk, the bigger the potential gains, as well as the potential fail. That's big events and crazy strats.

However, some people just go home and print money in their basement. That is duping. Counterfeit.

OUTRAGEOUS. I feel like in akumetsu where people who were screwing us, the common player, over got away with it and I wish I could become akumetsu and shove an axe into those stupid elietists. Ugh.
