Some of the analogies in this thread are hilarious. Never duped, no letter, no ban; still think they should have just fixed the patch and let it be. This is coming from someone who did salvage since before the starting chest / 2000 AP a tag, I don't feel disenfranchised.

actually he'll stay #1 unless scragg or an FFXIAH admin deletes him, FFXIAH info is databased, it doesn't update based on char status, see: all the peoples info/char info that remains once they server transfer

Most of the people that get circles run around them got circles ran around them before/after/during the dupe. There will always be a difference between the people that just dont know whats going on, and the people that just blow others out of the water. The difference here is that a few of the amatuers get a chance to laugh at the people that they could never come close to matching, losing everything. maybe they brought it back for this but I've known well over 50 people who've gotten perma-banned(donotpassgo) since mid-07 and they were all LM-17, not a large enough sample size etc

I got LM-17 which turned out to be a perma ban. Kinda sucks lol after 4 years of playing without any warning or strikes against teh account they just ban me like that. People who got like 200 mil of SW however dont seem to be getting banned, 3 days suspention onry. I guess everything gotta end sometimes.

Just got off the phone with the support center. My account is suspended until 1/26. They said I would be able to log on then and couldn't answer any further questions related to the matter. They told me to contact a GM once my suspension was over more details.

I think this was so severe because this exploit could effect everyone in the game. Remember ANYTHING that dropped could be duped. That means alexandrite too. I'm sure alex was duped and sold to to players who didn't know or use this exploit either. That means that exploits were not only getting extra gear drops but also a leg up on mythic or gil gain from this too.

Also they could dup cell drops, unlocking members quicker, or more members, making slavage in general easier for them over non-exploiters.

You could remove all salvage gear from the exploiters as a punishment, but what about the extra gil they got from selling duped alex? or are you gonna take dup'd alex from unsuspecting players who bought it from a bazzar?

This exploit reached further than those just those who used it, it effected the game population as a whole.
