How can people still keep blaming SE for this shit. Did those double/triple drops happen automatically? Did they not take actual effort and setting up to produce the glitch? Seriously, people weren't just hit with this dupe out of nowhere, they actively attempted to make it happen.
I really don't care that people did it, or if it is wrong or not, but people who did it unwilling to accept any consequences should just shut the hell up about blaming SE. This thread needs more perma ban entertainment.
Ha ha.

Ok so what is a LM-11? Permaban?
Used the dupe trick like 6 times total and havent done any other wired shit in game![]()
fyi, US accounts have to call the US number. Can't use the online deal either.
The really fucking stupid thing is that they're perma-banning people with clean accounts in order to send a message to the rest of the player base. Also does this mean an assload of old JPs have been banned as well?
That's like saying you shouldn't be perma banned for POS hacking once when you have a clean account.
drwaffles, did you get lm-11 or lm-17 (or other)
Ok kill your child if he stole a candy from the store, don't refund the store or take away the candy gotcha.
I can tell you this. the US call centre is gonna be massively overworked tomorrow
Microsoft fucks up at programming security all the time. Does that make it okay for hackers to go around and jack other people's credit card numbers and ruin their credit scores because of a bad programmer?
No one in their right mind is going to buy the "It MS's fault" line or "You should have used a different Program/Operating System" line from the hacker when he jacks your credit card number. Because he is at fault for abusing the loophole even if he didn't create it.
There is ample enough evidence that the SE programmers leave much to be desired. But being given the opportunity to do something does not mean it is legitimate for you to do it. The exploit was there, that doesn't mean you were supposed to use it or were justified in using it.
You could have reported it and gotten it patched however much sooner. You made the conscious decision to exploit the bug (or partake in a shell/runs that made use of the bug). You had free will, you made a decision, now it's time to accept the consequences.
Ok, so are there 2 errors? LM-17 & LM-11? If so is one perma and one temp? Anyone know yet? Call center not open her til almost noon QQ
LM-17, same as most people I know. Also called their support and was told it was permanent. And no, I don't think anyone should ever be perma-banned for their first offence, especially when the system is so inconsistent and some people manage to get away with multiple temporary suspensions. Temp bans are more than enough to instill the fear of God into most long-term FFXI players - there's no way in hell I'd ever risk doing anything remotely shady in-game again if I somehow managed to get my account back.
Guess it had to happen eventually. Any way to tell based on the code if it's perma or temp? Hoping they didn't dole them out based on whether or not you were pt leader, though that's probably exactly what they did...
You don't get 3 warnings for POS hacking anymore!![]()
Lmao @ people saying it would be stupid of SE to perma ban people. Sure it's flawed design, but did you have to dupe items? No, so those of you banned are just as guilty and deserving of it, because it may be a flawed mechanic, but you could have easily reported instead of exploiting it. So it wouldn't be stupid of SE...it was stupid of those of you who exploited it thinking there would be no repercussions.
