My other ID was banned, it's over whatever there are more games. But the shit that you're saying that they're RMT??? You misunderstood what I said (I think). I said the people who made out the best were the people who duped and sold their account online before this banning happened. They loaded up their toon with great gear, essentially getting more money, and sold it to some "poor soul" for thousands of dollars who now have a banned account. Lot's of people sell their characters, and I'm sure some of those accounts were banned. I just find it funny that the sellers made out the best. I didn't say all that duped RMT'd. I actually defended (kinda) the banned accounts earlier. I think it's pretty shitty.

Ohh, I'm sorry, I was under the impression that we were using the basis of exploiting Square Enix's coding for personal gains... the ability to change fillmode, alter your interface to be able to view cooldowns continuously. The ability to have more than 6 lines per macro. Ohh, and seeing TP of the party/alliance? That's all being streamed to your CPU, but your CPU doesn't put it to the interface. You're utilizing those data streams due to Square Enix's programming.

Guess what, windower is also considered a hack, a cheat. It is as fundamentally against TOS as duping the items due to a poorly coded game.

Anyway, they are right to ban the deviants, but they have to remember that most of their players are kids and teenagers, not 60yo business men with PHD's who expect legality and such seriousness from a game and theres a better way to repair their careless image than to remove our friends from the game. Im about as shamed as I am when I get a speeding ticket. I tried it once, it worked, we laughed, and got a 3 day ban for it (which I deserve). There will however, be alot of good players (skill/gear wise) that we will lose because of this, and that does suck, regardless of if they "deserved" it.

FFXI players pay for the service of playing FFXI. It is SE's responsibility to deliver a working game. The duping glitch was an example of SE failing miserably. The bug was known and reported many, many months before it was fixed. I recall several people mentioning reporting it during the initial findings of it. This is negligence on the part of SE. If someone pays you to take care of their dog, and you forget to put food in its bowl, it's your fucking fault if the dog starves to death or gets sick, etc. If someone comes and steals the dog, guess what it's your fault.

In this case, SE if failing to deliver the product s.t. there are known errors with the game which are left unattended for months and months and months, and rather than acting quickly to restore this, and issuing the players who abused it a stern warning, they wait and wait an wait, and simply ban the majority of the people using it?

Whether it is right or wrong, when an issue is known and ignored it is tacitly condoned.

Your point would be valid if you didn't agree to abide by the ToS every time you log in. "Tacitly condoned" is nothing next to "I agree."

SE never guaranteed to be able to have the foresight to know every single coding error, and I doubt that it was something as simple as changing a line or two in the code and updating a couple of files. It probably went through some testing, which takes time. In the meantime, you're expected every single time to shy away from using loopholes like this, and to report it when you learn about it so that they can fix it.

Furthermore, it's ridiculous to label it as a non-working game, since out of the thousands upon thousands of people who have done salvage, only a handful felt the need to go this route. Call it what it is. They didn't like the circumstances, and they cheated, going back on a binding contract they essentially sign every time they enter Vana'diel.

LM-17 is temporary, but it doesn't necessarily mean 24 or 72 hours.

A lot of the people who got banned for the FFXIAPP (The one that randomly generated claim delay via a server) got LM-17 back in April 2007 and are still on it.

Yah, i just got temp because i joined a run where they did it and suddenly got a drop off a fuckin LBC. But on my set i decided to not keep doing this for various reasons, one being the risk of cheating. So yes, remind me forever for this!

I know of a few good people on Titan that got axed. I think they just axed their most dedicated players of each server, in turn will cause the demand for this game to go down faster. I think banning them was the wrong choice. Should have just suspended them and taken the gear from them.
