The mirror image nature of this thread to the original salvage dupe thread and the occasional lols made it bearable at least.

Anyways, anyone who says "death of FFXI endgame ; ;" seriously needs to get over themselves. Actually I was picturing a glorious day when I first started reading the thread, where the tainted were purged, endgame to be slowly repopulated after the apocalypse by optimistic newbs, who might actually be able to enjoy endgame. But nope.

All in all, seems a bit heavy-handed IMO, at least for those who aren't smug self-important asses.

I don't think many NA's on Diabolos even knew about the exploit. Probably people who were associated with Deucionts group and maybe some others. Though I have heard the JPs on Diabolos might be getting hit hard (I heard MB may have, but those were just rumors)

Yeah our group got hit kind of hard. They're not sure about Temp or Perma bans yet, but I'm assuming that all of them are perma bans, just because we only knew about the duping thing for like 3 maybe 4 weeks before it was fixed and didn't get much out of it compared to other people who used it. And as far as the JPs on our server it wouldn't surprise me, especially Regal, if anyone from Diabolos knows who I'm referring to.

I get e-mail message on clean account. Obtained at least 3 35's from duping. Everyone else including those ppl in my group with clean accounts LM-17. prolly ~15 people.

One thing I'm only really annoyed about in their selection was the fact that half my salvage group got LM'd, the other half didn't, and most of them are in our LS so I know we didn't dupe things like sandworm which we don't fight - Why so selective? What made me get the ban and them get the letter, why didn't we all get a letter / ban?

I'm going to make a random guess here, but I would suspect it's related to what is associated in the chatlogs. If one of the people participating in it was the sort who never speaks (or only speaks in Vent), SE might not smack the hell out of them as much as the guy saying "/l Ok, X, Y, and Z, disband now" or whatever it is you people had to do.

On a sidenote, I'm shocked by how many people are blindly willing to own up and say, "I duped and didn't get banned!" Haven't we learned by now that SE has people reading forums? The level of smug idiocy involved is painful.

That bit is rather odd. When they said they've been going through logs, maybe they also meant chat logs? Maybe some people said something that made them crack down harder on those than the others? I guess we'll never know.
