i got LM-17 and used the duping trick for like a week ( alex, bosses drops, and cells) we used the trick on ares feet35 and once on bahf boss, dun recall what dropped from the boss coz i didn't lot any, i just lotted ares feet, leader lotted all the alex bags and all of us lotted the dupped cells.

all of my set got ban. 6 of them

so i went to pol live chat and waited 2hrs to get an agent to tell me mine was tem *phew* not sure about the others.

Who still thinks this exploit is being investigated hmmm? Just because they released their monthly ban report, doesn't mean that's the end of it, I'd bet there are still more bans to come, one can only hope :D

We'll see the full effects of this banning in the coming months. Where Endgame LS are gone and new ls can fill the spot. Where some of the old players use to pride themselves on doing new things are gone and new people has to do the research themselves. Where players that play the games because of friends are gone, will they keep on playing. I am sure no one can argue FFXI is a dying MMORPG, and there are better games out or coming out soon. This move to remove the so call Major Endgame players from a dying game seems silly. Those are probably the same people that will keep playing because they already spent so much time into it. But today is a dawn of a new era, and see if these 550 people would have made this game more or less enjoyable.

Gred, I am prettty sure that many people on here who got banned know full well that there was going to be a consequence for duping the salvage items. And many are stepping up to take responsibility. But the way SE decided to handle this was (In my opinion) not the right way. There is no justification for cheating. We are all aware of that. But take into consideration how much the players sacrifice to play this game. This game asks for far too much sacrifice for little to no reward. It is a natural human thing to try to take advantage of something to get it done quicker for the sake of saving time.

It's not like these most of these people did not do any work for this. I am dam well sure plenty of people were doing Salvage SSR daily, everyday, for 7 days a week trying to get there drop but to no avail because it simply would not drop. That is almost 2 hours wasted everyday it did not drop. In total a little more than 15+ hours a week spent doing something for nothing. This game is sick and twisted when you think about it. Sure these people kept the glitch hidden but I can see why. Sure it was a scumbag move in a way but meh.

In anycase, I will just say this discussion is not something easy to call. Both sides have valid reasons for this dilemma. Neither side in my opinion is right or wrong completely.

The punishment in this case far exceeds the crime.

Their choices of ban/temp ban in this situation seriously is poor as fucking hell.

A dude that did it only twice has a perma-ban, and he got no actual gear from it at all (and he had no prior marks on account).

Another person that did it almost 50+ times, got lots of gear from it, ended up getting just a warning.


More retarded bullshit. I'm not complaining about it happening, but I am going to complain about them giving out retarded punishments/penalties/etc for it. Do it fucking right, do something across the board/common sense based, or take all of them fucking back. SE can't even program their game right; and now they can't even give bans/suspensions right either.
