Ive had my problems with people in this game over the last few years, and I had people that I wish I didnt have to see around whitegate sometimes. But I never been so bitter, so hateful, and so selfish as to delight in anyone's anguish. If the game has gotten that bad for you, to make it so players physically make you this upset and childish, you should have quit a long time ago.

I didnt care for Niki's attitude either, but I dont smile to see them gone. Much the same, I've made friends and enemies in this game over the past few years, and there is still nothing I'd rather see than a cheater get hammered. Nearly everyone caught up in this knew exactly what they were doing and that it was wrong, and they deserve this. There's a pretty significant number of people that play this game that will never cheat in any way or form, and truly resent the cheaters for trying to get a free pass.

Niki, because of his/her attitide deserves exactly what he/she got, more than anyone else for being so utterly and completely wrong. There are few shittier attitudes than that of a hacker/cheater/exploiter trying to justify their deeds, and it's time for him/her to go. My personal version of FFXI has no room for the Niki's of the world, and I'm glad this is how it turned out for a frickin change. If SE was as good at dealing with FFXIApp as they were at this, it'd be a perfect game.

You could have easily been in that net unknowingly, so no, they aren't all bad as you are trying to make it seem. For the record Neo is temp so there is no "bitter end".

I do in fact know a few people who merely were in party and were none the wiser to the duping exploit. Sounding bitter is making a new account with the sole purpose to say something to "someone" now that they are banned when you've had the opportunity to do so for 2-4 years.

As for the "pike up the ass" statement: That was towards the same person who made an account in the very first dupe thread (where SE said "hey we know, we will be dealing with it"), where the person made an account specifically to laugh and proclaim their digital righteousness and state just how much they hated niki.

I dont feel any "moral" anguish over what I did. If I thought it was horrible to do, I wouldnt have done it. It's like a speeding ticket, I dont feel bad for speeding, but I do accept the concequences if I get caught. However, I do feel like complete and utter shit for the 4 other people that got banned (hopefully all temp) because they followed my instructions in that salvage run, and I hope they can forgive me.

I just wonder if the people posting gloating posts here really think they look any better than the people that got caught, or if they realize they are making themselves out to be even more pathetic.

That's bullshit. There are about 4 tiers of cheaters in this game.
1st: PoS/fleehack/duping people
2nd: Botters
3rd: Windower users
4th: Uses small exploits such as entering salvage solo or using the environment to avoid getting hit such as using the bushes at prudence.

Even if you have never done any of these things, odds are you're in a linkshell that does and have gotten the benefits for it. Are you going to leave your linkshell because they are horrible cheaters for botting for your e.body? Or are you going to leave your linkshell because they are horrible cheaters for knowing where 20.6 is so that they don't get paralyzed at cerberus? According to SE these are all banable offenses, but most of us believe the risk in cheating is worth the rewards (3rd/4th tier for sure and for a lot of people the 2nd tier as well) I'm really tired of seeing that breaking the ToS makes you a "bad person" or a horrible "cheater." SE doesn't determine what is right and wrong in the real world sense, just in their virtual world. And I have made peace that I can get banned for using windower and will accept the consequences of those actions. That said, if people want to laugh at me for getting banned because of it then fine I'd expect it from some of my rival guild members even, but I won't think that I have done something morally wrong. It's like if your game data on an N64 game gets erased because you used game shark too many times...oh well you knew that gameshark could fuck your shit up, move to the next game.

It's not so much as taking delight in another's pain, it's the fact that you and a lot of others rubbed it in people's faces about how "in the know" you were for so long duping your drops and finishing your armor sets while some of us who never knew and kept at it the way SE intended and got our armor sets by going thru a mess of painfully 0 drop runs while you laughed it all up at how your cheating didn't effect anyone.

Well in the end it did and now you and many, many others are paying the price for the self-smug attitudes of how special you were with your finished salvage sets.

I usually approve of what SNK says and this is no different. Having someone who was banned attempt to tell others not to laugh at the banned people is preposterous. Neosutra has no place in this thread as none of your opinions have any real merit as one of the banned when it comes to judgements. You say plenty of good people went down with this sweeping ban, but that's by your definition of good. For others, using the dupe trick even once is enough to make them into a 'bad' person. Sometimes all it takes is for someone to punch you in the face once to make you dislike them forever whether you think that's 'mature' or not.

Though, arguing with Neosutra is like arguing with a wall. All my joy didn't come from the ban so much as the arrogant bastards who got bitch slapped when they were so confidant. Though this doesn't change who these people are, jails are full of people who continue to blame society and 'the man' for their crimes, and this has proven no different. At least some of the people who are trying to play by the rules have a tangible punishment to justify our following of them. Believe it or not, it's possible to have fun while working within the rules rather than always trying to push the envelope all the time and those who are constantly breaking them and spitting in our face actually do make things less entertaining a good deal of the time.

To SE, there is no difference between fucking around a bit, or fucking around a lot, if you broke the ToS, you will be gone if they ever acted on it.

Doesn't matter if YOU think it's a lower tier exploit, your existence is just as insignificant as anyone else's. To SE, your existence as a ToS breaker is probably equal to those of RMT farmer account, and it'd be good riddance for them.
