They really are D: and I haven't had a double drop in over a year now - got like 3 double drops out of 5 runs with Joslin then nothing since

i lol'ddint sign up just to say. just happens to be my first look through BG. Of course it makes it easier to do just as any cheet makes any game easier. Yes as you dont know maximizeing your gil with cheats is a bad thing. It erodes the profit that others make doing it strait up.
gtfo choir boy, after years of playing this game you really think people give a shit if they can do a bc easier by typing a simple command? i look at shit like fillmode and apradar as extensions to the game. Shit i'm gonna go ahead and say 90% of the player base uses windower (NOT SE's) you wanna get on their shit for cheating too?
but on topic. Been using fillmode and duoing for about a year now every 5 days, and i haven't seen a single drop besides urushi in about 5 months. I feel like its broken, i used to static it with 3 other people and i saw a lot better drops than duo. Anyone else notice this?
If you don't think Square is willing to ban over this, you haven't been paying attention. They don't need to do a .dat check either: Just observe the groups who enter the battlefield and never pop anything but Tuchulca. I guarantee some of the "choir boys" have already reported to the STF and eventually they're going to get enough complaints that they'll have to take it seriously. I'm guessing that point comes within 72 hours of someone posting a link to this thread on Alla.
Uh.. I pay attention, and SE has only ever perma-banned when you duplicate items or gil in some fashion. Ever. Wall of justice soloing jailers doesn't even result in a perma-ban, just a slap on the wrist.
And APradaring an ENM isn't even half as obvious as completely taking advantage of terrain.
You can't compare duping up to 180,000,000+ gil worth of ancient torques in a sandworm run with knowing where an NM pops in an ENM.
Also, I'm betting if you had apradar and played on a pc you'd sure as hell use it.
I play on a PC. I have access to Apradar if I wanted it. I haven't used it and I haven't .dat swapped because I'd rather bring along one more person than risk my account for an average payout of roughly 100k.
That's fair, but you calling the people who do use APradar unobservant or naive is the exact same thing as if I called you stupid for not utilizing APradar and taking the, roughly, 100k instead of the, roughly, 50k every 5 days for bringing along a second person.
Seriously though, imposing your own ethics and morals is and never will be right.
Are you forgetting about the STF bannings every month? Obviously most of the bans are for RMT, but many are for use of third party tools. I tried to google special task force ffxi website to provide the link and get some recent statistics but no luck finding the "new" website. Saying the only thing ever perma banned for is duping salvage or gil is clearly wrong.
As with Weeks, I'm on PC and can obviously get my hands on APradar, hell I could do this every 5 days on my main and also a 75 RDM mule. However, I personally, am not willing to risk my account, I also know my LS would frown upon it and possibly kick me. In the end this whole discussion will be a big joke on one of us. Either you will be laughing because you've made 50-100m over the course of the next couple years, or I'll be laughing because you got banned and I'm still playing. The only thing I know for sure is if I pass on this opportunity I won't be banned, and that's a that's what ultimately matters to me in the end.
I would chalk those perma's up to pos hacking and rmt but things like botting and apradar are pretty much undetectable and would be like the fbi kicking down your door because you won the lottery twice in a month.
Though, I do agree there is that silly little chance of a GM watching you in the ENM and condemning you after you'd say something like, "I just got lucky, I guess" and that isn't worth the possible 3m you can get every 5 days.
there's actually no chance of that. GMs have better things to do than sit around and watch people people do an ENM, which couldn't even definitively prove that anyone's using apradar anyway.
Hell, you could flee/pos hack in the middle of town, and if no one reports you, you still wouldn't get banned. they don't randomly investigate people without a reason.
eh... SE put that new tool in place that can see if you are running faster and should not be. Or so they said anyways.
SE wont look for people who change files. Mostly because they do not have a right to look on your comp(or HDD for ps2/360) their ToS does not give them that right. This is why .dat wont ever get you banned unless you say something.(This is also a reason bots can do whatever they do not scan for outside linked apps)
*thinks back to when a person found a new file that looked like a App reader*
forget how long back but man people went app shit when there was a shot that SE was reading our applications.
SE wont ban RMT who PT in groups of 18 people with no sub at lvl 40, mages in RSE(lvl1) and dd with all the same cheap ass DD gear. Why the hell would they ban someone who got *lucky* picking a mob out of the ground.
Edit: Think before you speak BG noobs.
Because if you always get lucky, you are obviously cheating. The fact that they drag their feet on banning RMTs hasn't kept them from eventually taking action on other issues.
I don't know what tools they have in place, but I seriously doubt they required GMs to be stationed in every Salvage/Sandworm/Nyzul zone for months watching to see which groups were duping treasury pools, and I doubt they need to have a GM observing to figure out which mobs ambush players in this ENM. When enough people start complaining, which is a matter of time when so many people are this open about what they are doing, we'll figure out how time-intensive this is for the GMs by how long it takes until bans start happening.
the difference is that definitive proof could be found in the logs with the dupings. if an item was obtained more times than it dropped, it was obviously duped.
if someone goes through without aggroing any hunters, that doesn't mean anything. when someone runs directly to tuchulcha, and then turns around as soon as they reach it, before they could possibly have known they found it, well that's just a little more conclusive.
they'd either have to go through the logs by hand, or risk banning inncoent people. i highly doubt they'd ban people based entirely on how many, and how often they aggro the hunters...
Has anyone ever parsed this ENM to find out how much HP this thing has?
Two AMII do a little over 25%. If I had to take a wild guess I'd say around 12k HP. Haven't actually parsed though.
my aero3 takes off <5%, which is somewhere around 480 or so iirc. bliz3 takes >5% which is alittle over 500. on blm, my thunder4 does ~1100, which is 10 or 11% (sorry, can't remember).
that should make it approximately 10k.
10k sounds right
Hmmm with 10k i wonder if a SMN could force it to the grounds fast enough to solo it....
I know of SMNs duoing this but never heard about solo
it would take 2-3 pred claws, or pred x2 + drain x2 should pretty much always get it down. between sublimation, elemental siphon, and a bit of resting, it should definitely be possible.
i did some math for it a few weeks ago, and it should definitely be possible, at least in theory. http://ffxirog.livejournal.com/10841.html
I tried this SMN solo. I timed out after bringing it down to 25%. The largest problems I had were: Garuda wasn't lasting long enough to get a 2nd pact off before she died, Pit ambush was doing 600 damage through stoneskin, and there was not much opportunity to make full use of sublimation. Also, drain does shit for damage. I think I could cut some time down in between phases, but it would be a very close win if possible.
I've been duoing/trioing this fight as RDM/NIN and BLM/RDM and COR/WHM if they choose to come along. All you need is the .dat swap. I changed black antlions into wyrm's, so now after the first pop and sandpit, I just have my BLM partner wait by the start, and I'll go find the biggest Wyrm and pull him all the way back.
Very easy, very quick, very safe. We won within 7 mins our first time trying it as a duo.
