I like Ben, but let's not go overboard on him just yet. He's won 2 Super Bowls as the starting quarterback, but the first one they won despite his play, not because of it. Brady was instrumental in all their Super Bowl wins, and he still has 1 more ring + a loss in a great game.

How that rates against Favre for his career I guess is up to individual judgment because Ben does have more rings...but I bet you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who'd take Ben over Favre at the same age in their careers. That's not overrated, that's just common sense. Maybe he will go down as a historically great quarterback. Or maybe the team will start to go to shit around him and he'll have to find other ways to win. If that happens, don't doubt that Favre would be an excellent person to call on for advice, as he went through the same thing at the beginning of this decade; 10 years ago, no one called him overrated when he was winning 3 MVP's. And maybe in 10 years Ben will be called an overrated quarterback because he rode his defense to a title, and saved their asses with 1 drive in another. Cause personal opinion here is great quarterbacks don't lead drives that settle for 2 field goals inside the 5 yard line.

They throw jump balls and historic interceptions, but they definitely don't settle for field goals.

You have to understand that in each incompletion and interception he threw, in each yard he didn't get, there was heart and leadership you see, that's what makes him great. Fitzgerald has been in the league for 5 years. In those 5, he's missed 4 games. He's caught 1400+ yards in a season more often than not, and broke the record for most receiving yards in a post season during his first trip to the playoffs.

If the trend continues, there's no doubt that he'll be a first ballot hall of famer.
