I for once completely agree with Deejay, lol. Outside of Randy Moss, and correct me if I'm wrong.. none of my Top 5 have had *real* off the field problems. Moss's only off the field problems really has been what.. the fact that he got paid by Oakland? Steve Smith, Marshall, Plax.. all out of my Top 5 not only because I don't think they belong, but just too many issues.

I wouldn't put Holmes in my Top 10, though. :/

Torry Holt would also fall into the amazing in prime category and still active category. I'm not a huge Brandon Marshall fan. Bleh. I know Moss is great in a system that works for him, but as we saw in Oakland, if he's not in a good system.. he shuts it down.

Fitz and Boldin have both been on bad teams (before Warner had a huge year last year) and still put up pretty damn good numbers.

Then again, Andre Johnson sort of appeared out of no where what.. a couple years ago? Maybe three? I'm not 100% sure as I haven't checked the stats.

Brandon Marshall made a splash on the scene as well, but I agree. He's been gifted with a great Receiver's body, but he's like a baby T.O. right down to the dropped passes.

Calvin Johnson has had two WONDERFUL seasons on a horrendous team. I honestly think he's the next big thing.

I'd like to see what Megatron was able to do once he actually has at least a mid-level QB throwing to him. I think with the consideration of the teams they've played on, I might have Boldin right there with Fitzgerald simply because he started out strong, with Jeff Blake and a clown car of other QBs. Fitz really started coming out when Warner and Leinart were the starters there

Yeah,a greed. Both have had great starts to their careers though considering the teams they play for. Imagine if Megatron had like.. McNabb, Warner, Brees, Manning, or Brady throwing him the ball? I'm sure he could get 15+ TDs too.

Jason Campbell still needs to mature. I was on his bandwagon last year as he's an Auburn alum and I know he's better than he's shown, but I think he still needs to grow within a system for more than a year. I think he had like.. 5 O-Coordinators in 5 years, so he needs to stick with one guy for longer than a year, and mature. I think he can still be a good QB, but let's give the guy time. =p

NEW YORK (AP)—Brett Favre informed the New York Jets on Wednesday he will retire after 18 seasons, ending a record-setting career in which he was one of the NFL’s premier quarterbacks.

The 39-year-old instructed agent James “Bus” Cook to tell the team of his decision, six weeks after Favre’s only season with the Jets ended in disappointment as New York failed to make the playoffs.

In an e-mail to ESPN, Favre said he has no regrets about ending his career in New York and praised owner Woody Johnson, general manager Mike Tannenbaum and fired coach Eric Mangini.

“Mike and Woody, as well as the entire organization, have been nothing short of outstanding,” Favre said in the e-mail. “My teammates—Thomas (Jones) and Kerry (Rhodes) included—were a pleasure to play with. Eric could not have been any better. I enjoyed playing for him. My time with the Jets was short, but I’m honored to be given that chance.”

Running back Jones and safety Rhodes were critical after the season of Favre and his performance. The Jets went from 8-3 to missing the playoffs. Favre threw nine interceptions as the Jets went 1-4 down the stretch, and a torn right biceps might have contributed.

The Jets did not immediately comment on Favre’s decision.

If this is indeed it for Favre, he leaves the game with a slew of records, including career touchdown passes (464), completions (5,720), yards passing (65,127), regular-season victories (169) and interceptions (310).

The three-time NFL MVP also holds the mark among quarterbacks with 291 consecutive starts, including the playoffs, despite playing through several injuries throughout his career.
