I'm not sure how you can feel the First Departure's weak version... it's too quiet IMO. But eh.

Better instruments and the same basic feel to it. First Departure ver is definitely favorite. The remix in SO4 was a huge letdown though, easily my least favorite!

Ugh, yeah, I don't like SO4's remix. Though I do like it's normal battle theme a lot.

Personally, I prefer Seeking Victory to Saber's Edge... which is good too but I don't find it to be super great.
The violin in Seeking Victory is just too good.

I can definitely see why somebody would love Seeking Victory, its quite awesome as well.
Desperate Struggle is also amazing like the majority of XIII battle themes. Sadly, I found final boss theme quite disappointing. Not bad, but...

XII's final battle theme remains to be my favorite final battle music. 8:52 mins of epicness.

And don't you guys just love the way the game cools you down after a damn fucking intense boss fight with a chapter end music like this? Similar to "save room" themes it makes you drop the controller and go grab a drink for yourself, haha.
