I don't use windows often, however, I booted up in windows the other day to install something. I ran into "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."

Odd I thought, I've installed MSI files before, the steam installer was an msi file, for crying out loud. I can get no MSI files to install. I have tried everything. Unregistered and re-registered the server. Manually deleted dll and exe files in linux (lolsafemode would not let me delete them), followed by reinstalling the newest version. To no avail. heck I even tried Dial a Fix. no dice. Any help would be appreciated.

Every solution listed on the MS site has failed me. Even google has failed.

Here is the kicker, windows some windows update files fail to install, I assume they are MSI files.

Mind going into the event log and giving the error code that's being thrown with it?

Killed a few processes. Paying heed to which was holding me back. Apparently an odd combination of my webcam and microsoft's processes were holding me back.
