Oh shit at Rakan at the end there. Looks like we'll see an epic fight between the two, Fate wins with some hax and there's our answer of what they're going to do with Rakan. Fairly cliche in the end, the "master" always has to die but I dare say I'd prefer losing Rakan to Evangeline. It should be a good fight nonetheless.

While I agree, it kinda makes it necessary for Rakan to be around if anything bigger were to ever come around, so killing him off gets rid of needing Rakan around for everything. I think it'd make sense if he just went back to not caring about the world, but I think it works better for him to also have some character development.

Although, you know...? They may not have a Fate vs Negi this arc, what if Rakan and Fate "tie" here and both survive to live another day and Negi makes it back to the academy before encountering Fate again?

Of course, whatever Negi learns from the Governor-General is probably going to hint at whatever is going to happen next a bit more, so we'll have to see...

I hope Rakan lives through this...but having a Deus ex Machina outside the main character around does not make for a good adventure I suppose.

That whole tidbit over "oh, better see eva after 3 or so fights" was a nice foretelling though, maybe we'd get to see her again soon~

They won't kill off anyone in Negima, but they had to get ride of him somehow...he was too overpowered for the next arc, and would steal Negi's spot light (or at least, share it with him) if he stayed around.

I will be sad if he dies thought...he is so fucking awesome.



The chapter was pretty damn good in overall. I liked everyone reaction to the "discovery". It was spot on on what you would expect. Everyone is amazed for 10sec, then realize it's "useless", except for Negima who start understanding the mysteries behind the world.

The girls were weak. Fate is much stronger than Rankan according to his own powerchart.

Yeah, that's probably the only real interesting part of the chapter. Sucks having to wait a few extra days for a below average chapter, lol. Rakan is Rakan though, can't complain about it really.

Fates subordonates don't seem that strong anymore, but then again it is Rakan i guess... so next week we should be at the fate fight

I was thinking about the other Fate from the flashback more than this one. I figured they all had similar power, but I guess not.

Also, I rarely say that about Negima..but this chapter kinda sucked. Rakan's first fight against the girls was awkward enough, and I could have lived without a second one. And while i generally enjoy Yue's chapter, her classmater are pretty fucking dull. The goodbye could have been done in 2 panels.

That aside, it was a pretty good chapter even if not much happened. Ku-fei is one of my favorite characters, and this chapter was cute/funny.

Kotarou and Natsumi part is cliché, but I don't mind much. I like them. I'm just curious how the pact will works since none of magical power...looks like you can make a pact with anyone.

I just want update on Rakan vs Fate or the Govt General coming out tbh, but I'd be a retard to expect more from Akamatsu at this point...so it's back to the romance comedy cooldown for the next few chapters I guess.
