"We're secretly the enemy who was controlling everything from behind the scenes and also even though you've gotten a MASSIVE power boost and beaten the super-powerful badass of the universe your strength is like the breeze blowing compared to mine." is probably about where he was going with that.
I dunno, I'm prepared to see where he's going with this, but hopefully there will be at least an interesting twist on the concept. I'm honestly hoping that they'll have to face political power from the government moreso than a double-Rakan super powered governer general... They already have a high-level enemy to fight in Fate, there's a bit too much redundancy and story clutter if this guy turns out to be one too. But if it turns out that he has enough power to negate Deus Ex Magica and turns his POLITICAL power on Ala Alba, that would make for an interesting setup.
Yeah, that
My bet is on Negi "losing" power by way of Magia Erebea being "unusable" if he's to live a long life. So he won't be able to use it. Otherwise I'm not sure how they'll keep making too many more powerful guys to contest him. And I really want him to get everyone safely back to school and have an arc there before finishing things up.
Rakan gave the green light for a "few more serious fight" like 3 chapters ago.
I personally just want the arc to fucking ends, because I'm really not all that interested with the governor general, and with Fate being nowhere in sight, and probably either got beaten by Rakan, or ended up beating Rakan but taking enough damage to not matter for the rest of the arc (anything less than that would really make a bullshit cop out for Rakan IMO)
I mean the entire Mundus Magicus arc has taken so much fucking twist and detour, it goes from search to Nagi, to Fate's interference, to another training arc, then yet another Tournament arc, and now this faggot pops up and is revealing himself to be the villain the entire time.
Fate was a good antagonist because he's pretty much been a part of storyline since early on, but this guy just pop out of nowhere, got some lolbackground story, started kicking Negi's ass after his god level power up, and I'm really not that impressed now that he goes WATASHI WA KIRA DESUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU and Negi going Matsuda on him
Fate was involved in the story from the Kyoto arc, but he didn't get developed at all until the Magic World arc. I'm still puzzled as to why he was even involved in that escapade to be honest as it seems very beneath him. And why he didn't just insta-KO Negi during Kyoto?
I think this has good potential as a plot twist because it will probably tie into why Nagi has been missing so long, and maybe, why Albireo is injured. Both of these elements have been in the story from the start as well.
I don't feel the same way about this arc. The government being corrupted works well with the "mysteries" of the magical world. There is most likely a bigger purpose to that place, and it only make sense if the higher up are directly involved since they are controlling everything. Fate is opposing them, but his method are not "right". It could explain why he was targeting magical organization earlier in the series, and it partly explain why he got loyal follower.
I don't think this new guy (forgot his name) is going to be the main villain or last long. He is powerful, but he is definitively not the boss. He is a story device to teach Negi self control, while giving us some backstory.
Also, Negi was wounded and tired last time they fought. The guy is strong, he doesnt look "broken" like Rakan
New set of OVA's are starting up. First one is out and subbed by Mamiko. The OVA's will cover the current arc, first episode goes from England -> Forced Transmission.
Too bad we have to wait two months for the next episode, this one was pretty damn good. It's a shame they didn't make a real series, because no one is going to watch it with a single release every 2 months.
Also, why Mamiko sub tell us it's an incantation spell every time somoene is casting. We are not fucking stupid.
Yes. THIS is what I was waiting for. This is how it's done. Very very good chapter, really makes me want next week's. And hey, no "author is taking time off to gather materials."
like a boss yo, dark magic demon transformation umf
Nothing unexpected, but great chapter.
Mahou Sensei? moar like Maou Sensei...
But seriously, this is getting pretty stupid with the convoluted plot and conspiracies, but hey, at least next few chapter will be Nagi x Arika flashback.
I enjoyed it, it was straigth to the point. I dont think it's too convoluted, everything should be clarified pretty soon.
I'm confused about a couple of points, but not as a reader -- it's the same confusion being inflicted on the characters. In fact, we probably get more than they do... at least, except for Negi.
We know the magic world is a dimensional construct, and it was probably made by the Mage of the Beginning, who at some point decided he wanted to destroy his creation -- but it's populated by millions of humans, demi-humans, and magical (and likely mostly mundane) creatures, plants, spirits, etc. Fate is likely his... henchmen, or emmissary, or harbinger, or legacy. So the Mage decides to destroy the world, says "hey, everyone GTFO" and they say "NO U" and war was beginning. Nagi punches him in the face and ends the war.
Mostly the confusing stuff is what's going on now, which just hasn't all been revealed yet. The minister is deploying subterfuge and messing with everyone's heads, so meh, we'll find out.
I do find all this interesting in relation to Chao's storyline; was she borne in the Magical world in the future (which would indicate that Fate most likely won't or possibly can't success) or a mundane colony on Mars, which may or may not be able to coexist with the magical world (which would indicate that Fate could and likely will succeed). Hm.
Chao also lived in an era where the current natural form of magical energy is more or less nonexistent and she had to use that tattoo sigil that drains the life out of the user or something.

And just as it actually gets back to being interesting, more hiatus!
RAAAAAAAGE
I thought this chapter was boring compared to previous week. It had some good jokes, but we didn't learn anything interesting.
The runes on Chao's body allowed her to forcibly extract magical energy latent in the environment. Traditional magic is channeled from within.
Chao says at the end of her fight "Of course this is the result, I used the magic of the world tree..."
