I don't think its him running out of ideas as much as him speeding up the story, he could have spent chapters on the fate VS rakan fight but instead were getting more plot. (although the fight would have been kick-ass)
and im guessing asuna is the new mage in the cape thingy??
I'd have no idea how that'd be Asuna. My guess is that it's the guy the thousand master "beat" 20 years ago, Fate's master. So far that guy is the only one Rakan has not been "himself" around and Rakan is a bit disturbed atm.
What we know:
-MM is a constructed plane sustained by magic, presumably by Mage of the Beginning (Fate's boss)
-CE (Fate's group) tried to destroy the world years ago by destroying that magic
-MM was saved by the use of the Imperial Bloodline Magic to restrict the effects to Old Ostia
Fate's power seems to be a sort of reality manipulation. I think the key to it is that he's merely altering an already "false reality" considering MM is a constructed plane.
There must obviously be limits to this or else they could have destroyed the world anyway. I think that's where Asuna come in. Having being used as a tool during the war her ability to completely cancel magic is probably somehow key to collapsing the plane.
Chances are that Asuna is just somehow key to the ritual, but converting her into a new Mage of the Beginning would also fit into their mission to collapse the magic world. My personal money is on the cloaked figure being Zect.
The 2nd ova was pretty fun to watch (art is accurate to the manga, fights are well animated, and the environment is detailed and colorful like you would expect). I wish they would come out faster.
That said, the fanservice was borderline annoying. Sure, it was accurate to the manga, but a single page is much less annoying than a 2 minutes scene....oh well..it was still good.
lol... Negima 272: Hi2u FMA
I'm starting to wonder whether Akamatsu is actually doing this on purpose.
Last chapter was epic. Rankan's part was great, and Negi's reaction, while expected , was pretty damn smart again. The story is shaping up pretty well too...everything make some sort of sense, and doesnt feel like it's comming out of nowhere.
Also, is there any other hints in the manga that Asuna's is negi's aunt?

It's the feeling I get from these pages, but maybe I missed something.
I mentioned that a while ago.
But assuming timelines, the age doesn't match, since she was about Takahata's age in the flashback, maybe a bit younger, but not quite the 10-20 years difference they have now.
Then again, Asuna is probably not human to begin with.
Also, I find the whole conversation with Kurt kinda idiotic, when Negi can just have Nodoka extract practically everything from him.
Well, it could have been asuna's mom, or some time traveling stuff involving asuna, I'm just curious if there was any other big hints that I missed.
I don't think Nodoka can read everything that easily. It's kinda implied he is controlling his thoughs, and probably wouldn't let important info slip (especially after he realized Nodoka could read his mind). If he was impulsive or stupid, I would agree, but that's not his strength.
As well, if Nodoka found out something important, it would kinda hurt the scene/mood to interrupt Negi to give him the info, no?
Can't be Asuna's mom, since the Asuna remembers clearly how she taught kid Takahata to use Kanka when she dozed off in Eva's death training. Also the dream of Nagi that she had that she was gonna tell but got scattered when she walked into Konoka trying to perform pactio with Setsuna.
But yeah, those flashback are there, iirc there is also the one where Albireo's awakening her memory of Gato dying on her causing her to go berserk and summon her artifact against Setsuna on the semi-final of Mahora tournament.
Asuna is the same Asuna, it's just that the flow of time is probably different for her.
Pretty sure it's the same Asuna given her flashbacks of Negi's dad and this:

Age gap probably relates to magic.
I got the impression that she did not age at all in the Magical World, so she wouldn't have started until she was brought to the mundane world by Ala Ruba.
FUCK YEAH KAGE BUNSHIN NO JUTSU
Also, it would have been so much faster if Nodoka did that shit from the start :/
But the lack of hiatus note is pretty awesome, it's probably his longest streak yet
takamachi outta NOWHERE
Well, the fact he wasn't in Albireo's Jedi Council kinda implies that he was out somewhere else.
after the gate incident thing Takahata and Mana are shown arriving so it isn't that shocking
here be the page =http://www.onemanga.com/Mahou_Sensei_Negima%21/195/18/
Takamichi sure took his sweet time. Negi and everyone were nearly killed before...but I suppose it wasnt important. Anyway, the whole chapter was cliché, but still good. It's always interesting to see people around Negi do something, even if it's only 2-3 panels (better than 3 manga per characters). However, they really need to give us a decent explanation on artifacts...I have more and more trouble accepting how overpowered they are.
I think he beats his personal record 7 week ago when he did 3 chapter in a row.
I've said the same thing last week about Nodoka, but I'm pretty sure she can only read his mind when he is surprised/shocked. In another circumstance, I don't think he would have let that information slip.
I dunno, I think you can just say that artifacts/pactio are taking the "power of friendship" and just making it a bit more manifested. I mean, I'd like more of an explanation if he has one, but I'm not too annoyed by it not really being explained. I am assuming though that it'll be explained somewhere down the line somewhere.
Well, I can live with them being overpowered, it's that it seem too easy and there is no apparent drawback to it.

He could easily make up an explanation with this though (and he probably will at some point )
Negi's inherited the blood line, and because of this his pact are much stronger than the average pact...etc
