And what do ya know? Cop out harem ending with nothing ultimately resolved!

No explanation about Nagi, no mention of Asuna or Negi's future girlfriend (pretty much the whole class can be excluded tho)...that was underwhelming.

It certainly did leave things open enough to make a new series more focused on magic and fighting though.

Not with an epilogue that talk about the girls' future.

I mean, at this point, what threat could they bring that we haven't heard about? Demon from another dimension? I don't know...pretty much everything got covered already.

This ending pretty much confirm that Negi's girlfriend isn't from the class. I can't say I'm surprised, but I wish he had gave us a few more hints...

The epilogue does mention a war that caused Asuna to sleep for longer. We know something happens with Nagi and according to Negi he still needs to "help" in some manner and not retire. And can you not say that Negi was "killed" instead of dying of old age from when Asuna originally woke up? With Asuna around, you have reason to change the timeline and there would be some enemy of deadly caliber with the ability to kill Negi.

I think the main problem is Negi had to powerup so hard to complete the last arc he does not have much left to possibly do. A problem in many shonen.

They were referring to the war that happened during chao's era (keep in mind there is 2 Asuna now, one is sleeping, another came from the future) . At least, that's what I understood from Mana's epilogue.

Didn't Negi dies when he was 50 years old? I'm not sure I want something ecchi with 50 years old characters. Also, I kinda assumed he died trying to save his father, but managed to do it successfully with Asuna this time.

I'm sure they could think of something if they wanted, there is still many thing unanswered, but it would just be milking the franchise at this point. I would be surprised if there is something else planned with that ending.

I will always appreciate the quality that Akamatsu did deliver us over a large chunk of the manga's life, but the ending just leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth.

I don't regret reading this manga at all. It made me laugh quite often, I loved the cast (and still do), and the story was quite interesting at time. The sudden ending did leave a bitter taste, but it doesn't take anything away from the good stuff that preceded it

I felt like I was eating a delicious meal, even if the appetizer was kind of lackluster, and then, just as I finished the main course, someone put a plate of vomit and feces in front of me and called it dessert.

Yep, pretty lackluster ending. I especially hate it when they just put up a paragraph here and there to explain other events.

Oh well. The series sorta died for me after the Chao ark.
