Sleep massive group of the peon mobs. Nuke/aspir the mobs people pull. Continue to resleep... if you don't get sleep off again, kite around and around in dmg down sets.
A big part of campaign points is related to enmity you have on mobs - this is typically what I've done with BLM and end up pulling in high exp, but depends on length of fight too.

on the same page heh
For me, -ga a bunch of crap and die. Get back up and repeat this XD
go as another job lol.
I just kite things really, but then again I really enjoy kiting on BLM. It is really my only job, so taking something else isn't really an option, however if I did have another job to take to campaign I probably would... lack of refresh really hurts. I generally just take a mob and kite it and tend to end up with about the same xp as I would if I was just helping the group of 20 on one mob. You can aga and get more xp still I believe but that can end in disaster quickly.
I usually rely more on my sub job for the higher EXP totals.
/WHM, cures, -na's, Raises
/RDM Kiting, Sleep-nuke-sleep
/SMN(Best IMO) AoE Blink and AoE cures can do wonders for your total EXP.
Hate... hate it when a blm over nukes a mob I'm fighting, right as I'm about to Weapon skill too.
Bastards...
I agree go /mage, get so much more out of it, less death too.... maybe
better idea.....level another job to 75!
I hate my blm so I dont use it anywhere, let alone campaign, but a friend of mine lives to campaign with blm. this is how he does it.
1.) reraise
2.) find large group of mobs
3.) Tier III GA
4.) die
5.) raise, put back on reraise
6.) GA again
7.) die and level down.
8.) run around the room screaming and cussing
9.) get tags.
I found this works better if you move step 9 to step 1, but hey, to each his own :D
Yeh I did that too, fucking lost about 6000 EXP in 30 minutes.
Best way to do Blm is sleepga II a group, run a distance III-ga, if have a enough time sleep again. If not die, reraise and repeat process, and throw in a couple cures here and there for good luck! Best ive gotten was 3200 exp in single campaign.
Well if My thinking it right, there's a cap of like 90 EXP/min, I don't know if it's still divided amongst various groups of actions or not still since the bard nerf. (Doesn't seem to be, as it's a lot easier to get points now). Anyways, if you do 9000 damage lets say, you get 10% of that, but it will be delt out at a rate of 90/min, so if you can dump 9k damage you're set for 10 min.
So if you nuke a really tight cluster of mobs for say, 500 a pop x 5 mobs, you get only 250 exp and likely die.
If you can dish out 5k damage, that should give you enough exp to cover your time healing + the EXP lost for dying (-30 points).
So a volley of Nuke >> Sleepga >> Nuke might give you the max points you could possibly get for 5 min of resting.
I noticed that Campaigns are just a lot quicker recently, and I spend maybe 15 min a fight on a really 'long' fight, getting about 1200 exp. So what you're seeing might just be a factor of that. Shit just ends too quick to really get any exp...
A good marker on your progress is that if your AN is more than half the EXP you gained, you "Capped out" on the possible EXP. Seems that for every 2 exp, you get 1 AN, and AN eventually caps out a little bit higher than EXP, after EXP's been capped out. So as long as you are getting a little more AN than half, you're doing fine.
Just don't sleepga on kujata... all that does is ending with the blackmage running into everyone else and killing them all off when they wake up after the blackmage dies -.-;
I just kited a few nights back by mistake (crappy pull)... but I was on rdm/war and all I did was run around while people pulled them off on me. Only worked because they were caster types and would lag behind.
I find it more efficient to do this nowadays, more fun too.
1. Get tags (Go get shot if you forget to.)
2. Combination of melee/Spirit Taker (Or GoT if you are one of the 15 people with Claustrum)/IV nukes/aspir/drain.
3. If you find a group of ~2 mobs nearby, cast sleep-ga on them and babysit them for as long as you can. This works best if there is a decent sized PC/NPC group killing mobs.
4. If 2-3 mobs are in ga3 range and all of them are properly claimed, ga them. You get the points without the penalties of dying.
5. And find some fortunate guy and cure them. This is usually yourself.
-> In this way you rack up points in all the categories with minimal deaths. Keeping a constant point increase is better than spiking and dropping the rate to 0 while recovering from weakness.
If you want to play a pure ga-3 battle, go to Sauromugue. I have used ga-3 to fight 5 Yagudo BLMs to <50% of their HP before they took me out but it got rather frantic and very tiring towards the end due to resisted sleeps. Just be quick with sleepga if you want to do that and get some help soon after.
Result is capped exp (AN is usually 2/3-3/4 of exp in a ~30 min battle).
-----------------
Oh and a single BLM can turn the tide of an entire battle with NPC support. Do tell me if any of the melee leeches can do this.
