Effective way to do campaign on BLM

I don't know that I'd qualify BLU as a melee leech. Maybe if they're level 60 or something. xD

Any job that can sleep stuff is great at directing traffic when you have a squad of NPCs to kill stuff for you.

Jobs that have +movement speed gear can kite any grunt mobs too, only Generals have +movement speed. I'd imagine Heralds would be utterly awesome for Blm campaign.

It's been near impossible to rankup on my brd mule and even then it ranks down the next time if i have to do something other than campaign on it several hours a day.

I guess it depends on your level. At 75, BRD/WHM is one of my favorite things to take to Campaign Battle. I just go to one in a deserted area and solo one of the grunt mobs, using Paeon and Ballad. I get plenty of points between the damage I inflict (Joyeuse, looking into daggers + Mordant Rime), the damage I take, and curing myself.

If your going to merits, yes go as another job than blm, but sometimes you need exp on blm which sucks. Been noticing on my server that battles seem to be getting longer within last couple weeks, average one i've been in lately was 45 minutes. Was in MM the other day fighting Yag's for hour and a half and had to cash out tags and go to event before it ended and i know it lasted for at least another 30 minutes.

RDM is the only job you need for campaign!

Actually though, I made a comment like yours the other day in game, though I'd probably switch to rdm more often than not even if I had pld as an option.

I find it more efficient to do this nowadays, more fun too.

1. Get tags (Go get shot if you forget to.)

2. Combination of melee/Spirit Taker (Or GoT if you are one of the 15 people with Claustrum )/IV nukes/aspir/drain.

3. If you find a group of ~2 mobs nearby, cast sleep-ga on them and babysit them for as long as you can. This works best if there is a decent sized PC/NPC group killing mobs.

4. If 2-3 mobs are in ga3 range and all of them are properly claimed, ga them. You get the points without the penalties of dying.

5. And find some fortunate guy and cure them. This is usually yourself.

-> In this way you rack up points in all the categories with minimal deaths. Keeping a constant point increase is better than spiking and dropping the rate to 0 while recovering from weakness.

If you want to play a pure ga-3 battle, go to Sauromugue. I have used ga-3 to fight 5 Yagudo BLMs to <50% of their HP before they took me out but it got rather frantic and very tiring towards the end due to resisted sleeps. Just be quick with sleepga if you want to do that and get some help soon after.

Result is capped exp (AN is usually 2/3-3/4 of exp in a ~30 min battle).

Oh and a single BLM can turn the tide of an entire battle with NPC support. Do tell me if any of the melee leeches can do this.

This is usually more of the way i do it on blm. Just nuking or curing wont do much. On average i get 2500-3500 xp per camp. If you engage with more of a rdm mentality of melee/enfeeble with some nukes thrown in it usually is more than enough.

Drain Samba II, or Aspir Samba lets you keep MP up forever against multiple campaign mobs, it doesn't preclude using TP at all. The toolbox you get lets you spam JA's and hit those categories, remove status effects including silence, gravity efficiently, etc.

Taking 0 Damage = bad for campaign.

I agree with this too; 2 forms of healing means you can switch it up if TP or MP gets low and then recoup either one.

How low can BLM go to be more than a cure bot in Campaign? I've been working on BLM lately (mid 40's now) and am curious as to when I can add Campaign to at least mix up the monotony of soloing BST pets.

Spam enfeebles like Blind, Bio 2, and Raise whenever possible and you should come out with somewhat decent exp (well exp penalty for low level will hurt).

Yea just level PLD, I can get like 2500 in 15 min on PLD.
