Popular games that you personally didn't rate?

The only thing I use the Wii for these days is Wiiware/VC games, and even those are few and far between. (In recent days, pretty much just MM9, which isn't even an exclusive, and World of Goo).

Anyways, here's my overrated games list:
1). Little Big Planet - Huge hype, mediocre game that probably got me 10 hours of gameplay (+5 more when the MGS pack came out)

2). FFVII - Probably because I started with 6, and 6's gameplay mechanics really outshine 7's which made it seem pretty lackluster

3). Any GTA game - Cool idea, free-roam games are pretty fun, but the series was milked to death

4). Mass Effect - Maybe I just don't get it, but it seemed incredibly slow and boring, not to mention a bit glitchy.

That doesn't tell you anything about videogame quality. All you are saying is "I don't play the Wii." That would only surrender any opinion on the matter. If you haven't touched any games in the last 8 months how would you know if they are any good or bad? Metacritic? Nice.

It tells me people don't think for themselves. 8 months makes it sound like Brawl. So nothing being able to gather HYPE since Brawl makes the Wii not worth playing? That's stupid. Man, we should make a thread talking about game-hype failing to deliver.

Personally I am no fan of the Wii. I felt that its 2008 run was ultimately unsatisfying when contrasted. However this was after actually playing games.

The only titles the wii has had in the past months exclusive were tales and animal crossing, one was a rehash an dthe other one sucked terribly. That's like saying the PS3 does have good games because it can (or could, rather) emulate PS2 games. Find me a copy of Ocarina of Time with a Wii box cover, and then you can call it a Wii game.

Twilight Princess doesn't count.

If it's not an original game that came out specifically for the Wii, it doesn't count. The games you listed were ports. Saying TP doesn't count was a joke, since people say TP is just a grimdark remake of OoT.

Sin and Punishment is more debatable since it didn't come out stateside, but it's still at its core a N64 game, so I'll say no.

I have bought games consistently.

They have all sucked.

They have all been resold on Ebay. ALL OF THEM dating back to Smash.

Seriously, the point is you can have fun on the Wii. If you aren't having any fun on the Wii, it's your own problem. Maybe you require hype to enjoy a game. Maybe you think games over one year old are no fun. Maybe you can't play games without HD graphics anymore. Maybe you play a shitton of games and there isn't enough good stuff to fill the hourage of gaming you consume. Regardless, there is stuff worth playing on the Wii. Disqualify it however you want but my only qualification is this: Is it worth playing?

Ok I'll bite, I can say that because I sell them. I get to look at new releases as they come in and try the demos, and they still suck. I'm utterly disappointed in the Wii when it could have been so much more than it is now but fell short in my opinion. Its pretty bad when most of the Wii games that are half decent are on the VC.

You must be mistaking me for someone else. I haven't said anything negative about the Wii, I own one and enjoy it well enough, but all I'm saying is if you only enjoy it for the rereleased games, it's a waste of 250 bucks considering any computer made post-2005 can emulate just about any N64 game.

Fire Emblem 10, Okami, and being able to play a (smallish) bunch of games on the gc I never bothered to buy have made my wii more than worthwhile, imo.

So wait, the Wii sucks because it has too many "crappy games," and not enough absolutely shitty ones like your lusted-after "Killer Instinct Online"? You'll only like it if the library goes from "bad" to "god what the fuck"? And to think, I've found plenty of ways to enjoy time with my Wii over the years.

P.S.: KI was not the end-all of fighting games when it came out, it was all right, but it's old now, everything KI-related afterward was lame, Rare was never as awesome as everyone claimed they were, et cetera.
