Someone mentioned Enchanted Arms. That wasn't a popular game. I actually liked it though. I would put it as the 3rd best RPG on the 360, after Oblivion and Lost Odyssey. That makes it better than The Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery and Blue Dragon (I really HATED blue dragon). Haven't played Tales of Vesperia though, it's still TBA for pal regions I think.

What's bad about the sidequests? They don't feel any different from other RPG sidequests. I must be missing something or just not far enough into the game OR just not paying the least bit attention to detail.
Enjoy the sidequests in the Citadel. They're good. Just don't expect anything substantial anywhere else.

Oh and also the alignment system is so amazingly inconsequential. Being a bastard apparently is no different from being a saint.

I would put it on the "Typical Inexcusably Terrible Launch Title" list, myself. Graphics are boring and lack variety, characters have cardboard personalities, storyline is bland, battle system is mediocre at best, and all in all, you're left with no reason to play it. Unless, of course, you're really that hard up for an Xbox 360 "SRPG" experience.

I gave it a purchase -- used, naturally -- despite the bashing, and found out that all of it was very true. The cutscenes were long and practically depressing because of how tiring and boring they were. I didn't keep that one for very long.

I know this was mentioned in the "Regret buying" thread, but Age of Conan (wow, I almost let this name slip, typing Kohan...) has to go into this list.

Do I even need to explain this one?

Homosexual characters are deep, clearly you are trolling.

I hated the game at first, but after putting it down for a few months I decided to finally finish it. I must say I grew on it a little towards the end (the battle system anyway, everything else was ass). Definitely would not recommend it though and saying it's the 3rd best RPG on the 360 should probably be punishable by death.

I would say Enchanted Arms is worth around 10 bucks, maybe 20 if you're really stretching it. It's entertaining and I'd certainly play it if I didn't have a tremendous backlog to get through. I actually really enjoyed the battle system and I'm not typically a fan of sRPGs.

I've been plunking through Last Remnant currently, I don't think I'm enjoying it anywhere near as much as I liked Infinite Undiscovery although the two are entirely different games. Nothing holds a candle to Lost Odyssey for me, but I'm a sucker for traditional turn based stuff. I really like Blue Dragon as well, but for whatever reason it gets rather boring and I can't bring myself to really get into it.

Semi-back-on-topic but I purchased Baroque for ps2 (having never played a Roguelike game before) when it was first released and had fun with it for about 2 days, then got really tired of it and promised myself I'd never play it again. Now that I think back I can't help but feel like I just dont understand the point of the game, and that if I did I'd have a lot more fun with it.

Oh my......I think this may be the worst game ever made that more than 10,000 people purchased.

Last Remnant - Could only force myself to play for maybe 2-3 hours of the game's story before I got sick of the battles system. And that gay running animation...

I think I'm more like you, I like the turn based RPGs more, or even the real time ones like Infinite Undiscovery or Kingdom Hearts. I just don't like it when I don't have control over what I'm doing.

I've been considering getting Lost Odyssey since I've heard nothing but good about it. Guess it just got lost in the hype some other games got and I never gave it a chance. I'm starved for a good RPG.

They just dropped the MSRP on Lost Odyssey to $29.99, at that price it's an unbelievable deal.

Don't get me wrong-- I do like Last Remnant, I just seem to get frustrated easily when things in battle don't go my way because I don't have direct control, but when things do work out or I beat a difficult battle I feel very rewarded.

    Gears of War...

I find 3rd person shooter controls difficult, the camera always feels slow (the max look speed wasn't enough for me, and also occaisionally lead to fps lag on my old xbox) the online mode was pretty crappy, leading me to get gibbed because of an awkward character animation.

But it was mostly because I couldn't help feeling like there was a bit of a gay undertone between all those macho guys and that my reward for completing the game would be an uncut shower scene... Suffice to say, I never completed it, and never will.

I loved the online mode in gears of war. I stayed with it until i got the 10,000 kills achievement. It was worth it just for the gamerpic.
Gears 2 has a 100,000 kills achievement, but I decided not to go for that. Mostly because the game was a huge letdown for me compared to gears 1.

prince of persia was fucking terrible. the invincibility gimmick was shit, the ending induced rage, and the combo system made me want to throw my controller. plus, I beat the game on my first playthrough in one sitting, including the 1001 light seeds thing.

also, I don't get how people enjoy warhawk. it's like a lame Battlefield clone.

oh and the world ends with you, did people seriously like this game? I couldn't stand the story, and the battle system, contrary to popular belief, was not "complex", it was "shit". leveling up fucking pogs or something was ridiculous, how many kinds of exp were there in that game? and the fucking armor system was nauseatingly weeaboo, even for me. armor being powered up if the clique that would wear it is associated with the area of tokyo you're currently in? was the localization team retarded, and failed to realize that NO ONE in america would understand how this worked, or were they genius, and realized their audience was a gaggle of pocky-chomping morons that would suffer through anything so long as it was remotely japanese?
