Not really. You can get away with murder in FFXI if you chose your words carefully. One of the things I learned way back in the day, was that the only thing worse (in JP eyes) than a botter is someone who admits to botting.

We see the person who denies it as dishonest, JPs see the person who admits it as someone without shame. For a culture that is based on nothing but shame, that is pretty bad.

What if it was a lottery. SE takes the "number" of each player accounts that were found to be duping, put them in a lottery thing, and the lucky 500 gets perma banned, while luckier 450 gets temp ban, and all the left overs get warning letter.

No they are very inconsistent, a friend of my brother told him how to do the trick and also came with him along the runs and GOT A PIECE from nyzul, he only got a letter lol..while my brother got temp ban and he didn't get any drops from nyzul, though he did lead the alliance breaking runs and said stuff in chat...

So two people out of all who were perma'd, led you to this theory of "who the person was"?

Seems a stretch to me...

Even if we had a bigger number like 50 with supposedly no prior marks, it would still seem a stretch to me.

Actually, I was saying it based on "this person has leet gearz and mad lewt, therefore b&t". You don't need to comb through the intarweb to know what multiple 100 crafts + multiple relic weapons + multiple endgame armor sets + 9 digit gil means.

I'm not saying that every high-end offender got banned, but it sure does seem like there are a lot of bolded names with relic weapons next to them in the R.I.P. list (compared to non-bolded relics).

I had no prior marks (other 6 members had none as well), was never a party lead and spoke on vent about it only. I was perma. I've talked to/personally known other people who made it way more obvious get temps and letters. 7 people in my Salv group, 6 perma banned and only 3 could be party leads. Small sample size but of the six of us that were banned, we were pretty "well off" ingame.

(Accepted our bans because we knew we deserved it. But consistency with temp/permas was, and is definitely an issue.)

Since this isn't a pity thread and no one who gets banned doesn't deserved to thread, I'll contribute.

SE's system of rules follow a very specific guideline. Atleast that is how they portray it to the public. However if you've read or heard about ALL the complete BULLSHIT that some people go through you will quickly realize they're all show and no talk.

Example: Player A was compromised by a third party. Player A calls the support center and tells them they were compromised. *6month process of getting your account back now*

Example: Player B was compromised by a third party. Player B calls the support center and says he forgot his password. *1hour phone chat to get your account back*

Now player B just has to say that he thinks his account was compromised and they will initiate the data recovery instead of the account recovery and THEN the data recovery. It's just stupid that both players have the same problem but just because the way they were worded it complete changes how it works.

Also it honestly seems like they make shit up all the time. A friend of mine went through the process of getting his account back (which happened to get banned while it was compromised) for 7months. He took the whole thing to the BBB and everything and SE told the BBB that he was to call the support center and that management had been notified. After he called support center back management didn't know what the fuck he was talking about.
