Easily the best episode of this entire show. Definitely did not see that coming at all, I'm glad I didn't read any spoilers. >.> I hope the season finale next week is as good, or better, than that episode.

Late in watching this, but holy shit! Best episode yet! Alan Tudyk was fantastic in this episode, from being eccentric and wimpy as we're used too (face it, we've all at least watched Firefly) to being a crazed psychopath. Victor, Boyd and Billard were also great as usual.

As badass as this episode was, one small thing caught my attention early on - its tangential to the main plotline at the moment, and I'm not sure if it will have much of an impact at any time, but we all love speculating:

I think the Doctor might be a doll. What got me going down this little road was when ViktorDominic was in the chair, and they were about to give him the shot. He was panicing, and he called to Topher, then DeWitt, and then looks at the Doctor and says 'whiskey'. She brushed it off like he wanted a drink, but the line seems a bit off in that context - it makes a bit more sense as the name of a doll (Alpha, Echo, Mike, November, Sierra, Victor are of course all letter names in the phonetic alphabet, as is Whiskey).

So, could she be a doll? She's certainly attractive enough to be one, a qualification, apparently, judging from the lineup. But because she was sliced by Alpha they may not have as much use for her on engagements outside the dollhouse, so they loaded her up with a medical background for in-house duty for the rest of her contract. During the crazy-drug episode I don't remember her getting involved, so that test doesn't preclude her. And if she were a doll, Dominic would have known her background as security chief and thus her doll name.

I've been going back in my mind to other episodes, trying to remember if theres canon to prohibit her from being a doll, or more evidence to support it. I'm also trying to think what possible ramifications this could have on plot but I'm not coming up with many. So am I delusional or no? I went and ruined the mystery of the episode by reading about Tudyk being cast as Alpha, so maybe I'm just conjuring up some to compensate.

The way the show works, a lot of people could secretly be dolls. DeWitt and the doctor are the most interesting candidates, but so far I haven't picked up on anything that would suggest the doctor was a doll.

That's what I was wondering as well. It would be an interesting twist, and would fill many plothole (or rather, explains how they can keep everyone quiet about it and prevent leak)

Every time Victor is acting as a different imprint it seems to underscore how bad Dushku is; he takes on different accents, mannerisms and sets of idioms whereas it seems like all she ever does is play the same character but expressing different emotions.

In regard to the doctor being a doll, there have been a few hints- in the spy episode they pointed out how she never leaves the Dollhouse during the interrogations.

When Victor was playing the CIA agent (can't remember his name), I noticed he was nailing his mannerisms and facial expressions dead on. I was telling my wife about it as we were watching the episode. That kid is a ridiculous actor. I'm pretty pissed he got cut up all to hell.
