Even though I didn't watch the pilot yet, I'm thinking episode 13. It didn't make sense at first, but it's obvious what happened by the end. Though I do get the feeling there are a few gaps that needs to be filled in, but the situation was clear.

I liked the unaired pilot, though if they had used that instead the whole pace of the show would have been completely different. After watching Epitaph One, I have to wonder if that's what the second season will be building towards, or whether they'll scrap that plot line.

Wow, episode 13 was amazing. I cannot wait for season 2 now. And that's Caroline (Echo) in the kids body, it seems they decided naive little Caroline would get to wake up and be the strong protagonist that fits into such a world. Original Caroline was a lame main character.

This was a good way to send off Amy Acker's character, if she's on another show now she only needs to come back for a guest spot for flashbacks or not even appear at all. And if she has the time she could make a full return as well, it makes sense either way.

Also my bet is on Caroline giving Dewitt that pistol in that final confrontation, but we won't know until a couple episodes into season 2 most likely.

When they decided to scrap that Pilot they attempted to salvage what the could and use some of it in other episodes according to wiki. I thought it all looked familiar while I was watching it, too and looked it up.

They used parts of the pilot for episode 13, as well as quite a few other episodes (like Ballard and Victor talking at the party). The original pilot really got to the point and didn't waste time revealing plot points like episodes 1-5 did. I suppose it lacked the action that Fox wanted, but honestly either route for the show would have worked.

My bet would be Dominik, he's the only one that seems willing to go around killing people in such a manner. But could be someone entirely different, which would be more fun. I'd guess it might be an assassin from one of the other Dollhouse's, the guy who was in Viktor's body talking to Topher/Dewitt.

lol, when I saw that my curiosity was piqued, I loved Dollhouse and still need to see this episode. Then I saw zombies and wondered how Joss Whedon managed to work them into the story.

They're zombie-ish, it took me about 2 minutes to figure out what was going on and when it clicked my mind was blown. This is how you do scifi.

I assumed it was just them getting him to take the blame for it or letting him believe it cause he's gone crazy. In the flashback, the lady was pretty much emotionless like she was holding something back.
