Ok, so does anyone here install games/torrent programs/etc. on external HDs and have everything work fine?
for example, I want to put left 4 dead on an external HD. would it work fine?D: also, i was going to put utorrent on it also.

Yes, it does. On my old system I had FFXI on an external 300gb hard drive.
But if you take it onto another system, no then it would not work unless you port the other stuff with it as well (possible files placed in Windows folder, and registry entries, etc. FFXI works fine because it only places files within program files, so it is easy to manage).
cool, thanks ^^
Actually L4D and all other steam games work fine without any registry editing.
I copy my steam folder directly from one harddrive to another to save the time of reinstalling.
Ah I don't own anything Steam wise so i wasn't sure about that. Good to know though if I decide to obtain Mirror's Edge via Steam.
lmfao at your sig, stig
So where is this Steam Cloud thing? Is it just automatic, like I can take my ext. hdd elsewhere and play whatever?D:
