Dawn of War II

i've been playing beta and having a blast. It plays quite differently from typical RTS's as there is no base building and focuses more on your units and capturing and holding the map to win instead of just base bashing. for me, it's a refreshing change of pace from what's out there (or at least what i've been exposed to).

has anyone playing beta or planning on buying DoW II?

i haven't played as them yet, trying to get at least decent as one race at a time.
the game seems pretty close to balanced as it is now i think there's just some minor troop cost adjustments, nothing is blatently overpowered or uncounterable.

i think the beta goes public today, you can check steam to see if you can get in

i seriously doubt it will ship with DRM as you can buy it through Steam

i'm not sure what you mean by Z games, but if you have played Company of Heros it's supposedly alot like that (though i've never played CoH) and is based on the same game engine

Steam games come with DRM as well, just a different sort from what I understand.
Usually one DRM system for the steam version, and another for the shipped disc versions.

Anybody else playing the beta having problems with video lag? I have a pretty good 512mb card, but i still lags all to hell with the settings turned all the way down.

I personally don't, but i haven't played a game so far that hasn't had someone lag the game for everyone because their "settings are set too high"
