Not entirely uncommon, lol
Take a new picture with the new torque design! D:
LOL I was thinking the same thing... cuz I'm like... I'm a SAM and a RDM (not that I have Justice Torque anyway cuz he's a stingy bastard), but I'm a BRD and SMN who has a Hope Torque, and the WHM-BLM Pru Torque isn't as special by far... but for there to be absolutely no crossover at all?
I guess it largely depends on how well someone wants to equip whichever 'extra' jobs they have, but it shouldn't really be so 'lolrdmjusticetorque' so much, I don't know many people that don't have some weird crossovers involved... -.-
Since we seem to be speculating more about what jobs should use each torque, why not go with the job that has the best in that skill?
Also another thing i have really been wondering for quite some time now, throughout all the video's, they keep zooming in on the chat log and showing the chat log + clock, but on the kill shot everything is taken away.
People have fought av using the torq with the appropriate skill with no correlation observed and thats why AV has remained in this state. Now it makes sense that torque should go on the "wrong" job like ex Justice torque on rdms to lock chainspell cause no one has ever done this to test and would explain why it has remained such a mystery to this day. Regardless dont go off an tangent until this theory is disproven.
No i totally agree and i want this to be tried dont get me wrong. I just think that above all else we are still not using our 2h's at the right time. Like i said in my big long post, in the English and French video when he READIES chainspell, only 3 people use their 2h. Just dosnt make sence why only these three would use their 2h.
Also, i think a lot of people keep saying LOCKING wrongly because i dont think you can prevent him from using that ability again, you can only prevent him from using more for that time. If i remember right, he always does Chainspell > Manafont > Benediction in that order. In the video you dont see him use Manafont or Benediction though. (I'm sure im wrong in that order, but i remember he always does 2h's in groups of three)
I hate my species. And you dont have to wait for 20 2 hours to go off to "label it sealed". If I can kill AV and have him not manafont, Ill be happy, event if that means I didnt hold it for 30 hours to gain a statisically sound conclusion that we sealed manafont.
Pretty much what this guy said. What's been proposed by the OP is an actually plausible solution to locking AV. The biggest thing it has going for it is that it is in fact unique and likely would not have been tried before.
I agree with Max that we can't just have someone try this once and discount it because there's still too many variables involved with the 2 hours. Do the 2 hours have to be used in response to AV using a 2 hour or can they be done at any time? The video certainly suggests they're used in response. Do you have to use 2 hours in response to a particular 2 hour in order to lock a different one?
Pretty much any "theory" revolving around responding to AV's 2 hours without having the torques equipped though is useless for this testing. People spent months after the video filling alliances with one of each job, 4 blms here, 3 whms there and trying to respond with 2 hours of there own to no avail. The torques in combination with 2 hours is what needs to be tested now. I wouldn't say testing the capes in conjunction with the torques would be a useless test but it certainly seems less likely seeing as you can't account for each 2 hour via the capes.
For the above complaints about future torque lotting. I know several bards with Hope Torques, and several PLDs with Justice Torques. You do realize that you are allowed to level more then one job right?
I would have to strongly disagree. The Torques are clearly designed for Melee and the Capes are clearly designed for Mages. Whats not to say that Mages need to be using Capes and Melee need to be using Torques? I just think that if a Torque is going to be involved in helping with 2h's, then I'm willing to bet Capes are as well.
Considering any job can melee and staff/club wasnt left off the list of skills on torques, your point is moot.
Drop it and dont bring it up again until youve had a chance to test it.
No. No no no No NO NO NONONONONONOOOOOOOOOO!
We KNOW what fucking torques each job should be using. This isn't Speculation. First, you look at the Jailer Weapon. Take Justice Sword, for example. It can be used by PLD, RDM, THF. That means that Justice is connected with Chainspell, Invincible, and Perfect Dodge. THIS is why you give a JUSTICE TORQUE to one of THESE jobs to lock THOSE 2hrs.
It has nothing to do with which job shares a skill that is on the fucking torque. Just forget that the torques even have stats on them because it ISN'T RELEVANT TO THE THEORY.
FUUUUUCK.
So I guess because Astute Cape has Ninjutsu Skill on it that Ninja suddenly gets lumped in with the mages. Not to mention that Dark Skill on the Merciful Cape seeing as Dark Knights wear that crown. Look, I'm not saying including the capes is a worthless test, but this thread about testing 2 hours with the torques which, to me at least, makes a hell of a lot more sense.
Yes i understand what the theory is, what im trying to tell you is that you cant fucking LOCK his 2 hours. I understand that what i originally said isnt THE ANSWER, im just saying its something that CAN BE TRIED AS WELL. In the video's he uses Soul Voice at two different points in the fight so good fucking luck making him not use it.
I guess you've never fought Absolute Virtue, or you'd know it only takes 10-15 minutes to use 20 abilities.
You seriously have to be trolling at this point. If you end up being right, then go shout it from tallest mountain, but what has been discussed here goes back to the torques and is based on an empirical observation made in the past not simply what makes the most sense. Frankly if it was what makes the most sense, we should have found it by now, right?
Pretty sure he was exaggerating.
The point is that if you beat it, should be proof enough that something happened.
