He can when he is in "Bracelet Mode". This portion of the fight is irrelevant since there's no point in worrying about it until we can get him dependably down that far anyway.

Only Absolute Virtue needs to be nuked with the element of the day. The Wynavs can be nuked down with any element, and obviously can't be nuked down with Light or Dark. Having the Black Mage party outside the alliance makes it easy to do that. Also, it is not always in your best interest to kill the Wynavs, since you unlock 3 useless abilities from Absolute Virtue by keeping them alive.

Doesn't work that way. You actually need 10 physical bodies to reduce the damage. The damage dealt to all targets is actually a higher combined total, the purpose of doing this is only to reduce the threat to the main tanks.

I've personally witnessed him use this without having been fed any TP at all. He used it immediately upon being attacked from idle.

I've seen him use this at 99%. I was on White Mage at the time and mirrored it, and he didn't use it again. But again, the margin of error is too large to conclude anything.

I speculate that this is to reduce physical damage without having to engage, or at least attack slower, and thus feeding less TP.
