I'd imagine most torrent software works the same way. I use BitTorrent, myself, and it works much the same as uTorrent.

Most protocols are the same, however the way those protocols are preformed vary depending on the program. Some also cheat, and trick other clients into thinking it's uploading alot, but it's actually not uploading anything at all. They all have their differences.

Ive found BitTornado to suit me best.

Ahh okay. All I know is that I used to use Bittorrent then BitLord and after a good hour or
two of downloading my connections would go to crap or give me an error. After I got this
program, and enabled the "encrypting" option it didn't seem to do that anymore. I was
able to download a 1+GB file without any interruptions. It could just be aplacebo effect.

The test sites seem to be up now, if anyone wants to try it.

I got "there is no indication that your ISP is limiting your ____" for all of them, and I'm on Comcast. Huh.

Comcast filters that page, and replaces it with the page you saw.

Comcast only recently applied a QoS limiter, and it only kicks in if you occupy 90% capacity for 45 minutes out of an hour, so burst tests won't ever be affected.

Just set your torrent caps to about half your total bandwidth and you're golden (barring the 250GB/mo cap)
